St. Johnsbury Academy:
Located in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, St. Johnsbury Academy is a private, independent, coeducational boarding and day school enrolling students in Grades 9-12. Serving young people from more than 50 Vermont and New Hampshire towns and boarding students from more than 25 countries and as many U.S. states, the Academy is a remarkably diverse community that actively encourages each student, teacher, and staff member to Dream Big.
Co-Ed Boarding & Day School for Students in Grades 9-12:
While the Academy's collection of nearly 220 courses, 40 athletic teams and 60 organized clubs and activities provides a full range of opportunities, there is a clearly defined core academic curriculum required of every St. Johnsbury Academy student. Our core curriculum, offered at as many as four different levels of difficulty (including 21 Advanced Placement courses), guarantees that you enjoy a broad and deep academic program.
Our elective program includes more than 30 courses in the fine and performing arts; 16 technical, engineering (STeM), pre-professional, and computer science programs; five foreign languages; and a variety of other courses for personal fulfillment and academic enrichment.
Diploma Requirements:
In order to be granted a diploma by St. Johnsbury Academy, a student must complete four years of study, and accumulate 26 credits.

- Mathematics 3 credits
- Social Studies 2 credits
- Physical Education 1 1/2 credits
- Keyboarding 1/2 credit
- Health Education 1 credit
- Freshmann Humanities (full year) 2 credits
Advanced Placement:
The Advanced Placement program of the College Board is offered to students (sophomores, juniors, and seniors) who have strong academic preparation and the desire to complete a college level course while in high school. Successful completion on an AP exam is recognized by many major colleges and universitites for credit. In recent years 21 Advanced Placement courses have been offered including:
