University of Professional Education is located in Eindhoven. The
engineering & technology institutes have about 5,000 students studying
in different disciplines of engineering. The Fontys IT-institute was
founded by captains of industry in the south-eastern region of the
country. The region is well-known for its industry companies and
knowledge of IT and electronics (Philips, IT and mechatronics (ASML),
a high tech specialisation company that created e.g. the CD player.
The English study programme in IT (computer science) is a four-year
course, leading to the international Bachelor degree. The degree is
