There are many advantages for students who choose to study at ECC over other Institutes and Universities in Australia.
The ability to fast-track, the smaller class sizes at ECC compared to Universities, and still being able to study on an Australian University campus, makes the decision of where to study your English course or Diploma program in Australia an easy choice!
* 3 Semester Fast-track System
ECC's innovative trimester system allows students to Fast track their studies and complete their course in only 8 months. This allows students to enter their Bachelor Degree at university earlier than those studying in a conventional two-semester system.
With intakes in February, June and October there is also additional flexibility which allows student to extend their course over 3 full semesters.
* Study on an Australian University Campus.
ECC is located on the Mt Lawley and Joondalup Campuses of Edith Cowan University (ECU); in Western Australia. Students have access to the full range of services and facilities available on the campus, including library, cafes, computing laboratories and sporting and recreational facilities.
* University Designed Program
ECC Diploma programs are accredited as Australian University level Diplomas. The courses follow the university curricula and assessment requirements at ECU, so students are working at the same high standards.
Many ECC lecturers are also university lecturers so they have considerable teaching experience at this level.
*Smaller Class Sizes
Lecture groups have a maximum of 50 students, although most average between 25-35 students. Lectures are complemented by small group tutorials/workshops ensuring students receive the best of attention.
* Part-time Study
ECC offers Australian students the opportunity to complete their studies on a part-time basis. Classes are scheduled on a 'block' basis providing students with the opportunity to attend for half-day sessions rather than several smaller periods throughout the week.
This provides the opportunity for students with employment and other commitments to manage their studies with greater ease.
Due to Visa requirements the part-time option is not available to international students.
* Course Accreditation
All courses are accredited by the appropriate vocational education and Higher Education government agencies, to ensure that courses meet quality assurance standards.
We offer the following Higher Education courses:
• Diploma of Commerce
• Diploma of Science (Computing / IT)
• Diploma of Communications and Creative Industries
• Diploma of Hotel Management

Because things do not always go the way we had planned or problems of an academic or personal nature arise, and they will for some students, our Student Counsellor is available to meet with students to discuss a range of problems or concerns on an individual basis. All students are encouraged to participate in these programs and to contact the friendly staff at ECC for advice and assistance as soon as they are finding things a little difficult. Remember, ECC is here to help students achieve success within their chosen program of study!
The counsellor is able to provide welfare and pastoral services and is available for consultation on both personal and general matters. Confidential student counselling is available, by appointment. Appointments with the Student Counsellor can be made at ECC reception concerning issues.
We understand that for students, the main reason they are in Australia is to study. However, participating in extra-curricular activities and getting out and about is important too. ECC encourages you to interact and enjoy your experience by taking a break from your studies and having some fun and participating in extra-curricular activities. By being involved in non-academic interests whilst studying you will be able to develop a network of friends and to broaden your outlook and skills.
You can also join a variety of events, activities and adventures (for example whale watching) organised by numerous clubs and societies in Perth. From recreation to religion, from sport to politics, they cater to every interest.
If you or a group of your friends have a particular interest in an activity, that you believe others might also been interested, please come by and speak to our Student Experience Manager, who may be able to help you organise such an outing for you!
