English-taught University in Southern Italy / Naples

Contact Our School

IAN Academy, Naples, Southern Italy:
International Academy of Naples (IAN) is the leading and prestigious Hotel and Culinary Arts educative-hub of the southern part of Italy and it is proud to be represented by outstanding faculty members and graduated students, who are offering us their expertise and impact. IAN Academy offers MBA and graduate degree programs, undergraduate programs & professional certificate-level courses all taught in the English language.

The biggest value of IAN Academy is in the collective imagination. We think at the Academy as a place where we learn something, where we to study and gain skills or obtain a Diploma or a Degree… In the last years, all the greatest global companies have realised that for hiring people is not enough to search candidates based on the Title they have, but based on what a person really knows how to do and furthermore based on what a person does and thinks!

Innovate the Concept of Education!

Photo of English-taught University in Southern Italy / NaplesThe IAN study programs are centred on the fast and effective learning and mixed with a deep training, they are not easy to face, but they forge big shoulders so that future challenges of life become a springboard and not an obstacle.

In the Imaginary of the IAN Academy the university is the place where life memories, lasting friendships are built, where the man or woman becomes mature and create the basis for the most important networks and connections for the life, the best minds in the world remember the university period as the one that shaped their personality and this is what the vision of the IAN aims!

We firmly want to combat the “bad and good ideas” conception, every idea born among bad and good times and among many problems, even those ideas that made the history of the world had so many initial doubts and problems! For this reason we created a strategy of structured programs to give real theoretical and practical foundations to students and not to get lost even for a moment in the maze of soft and hard skills, in the run to the certificate of this and that for finding a good job or for developing their own idea of business.

Undergraduate Programs:

- Academic Course Level 6 EQF in Visual Design

Our European system of under-graduation lets our students enrol in a specific course of studies they wish to pursue upon 3 years specialisation path in order to achieve a certificate of Level EQF 6 [European Quality Framework] as a “Diploma Accademico di I livello”.

In the traditional Italian system, in EQF 6 is also defined a vocational degree (Diploma di Laurea) that is similar in length, and it is also considered as an academic degree. Though it is designed as a specialist degree, in contrast to the Diploma Accademico di I Livello, which claims to be more generalist.

Italy itself, however, is currently abolishing the legal distinction between Academies Diplomas and University’s Degrees. They will be both translated as university’s certificates as they both provide Bologna-Compliant and Equivalent Levels. The comparison is currently based on common reference levels, correlated with a “learning outcomes” framework and placed in an 8-level structure called EQF.

In most under-graduate studies, if students have any lack in required subjects, they are required to obtain their foundation certificate (propedeutic) within three semesters after starting the course. A foundation certificate also counts as a requirement for participating in a university level bachelor’s study. The propaedeutic exams have the purpose of assessing whether a student has the appropriate capacities in order to complete the course.

Post-Graduate Programs:

According to the European System of Specialisation Courses, IAN postgraduate specialisation courses (Master I Level), are aimed to increase students’ professional and specific knowledge.

These courses are designed to provide the tools and skills to perform the tasks required by particular professional activities. They serve to provide the appropriate qualifications to individuals who require them to work in highly skilled professional sectors.
The first level Italian Master is part of the “second cycle” of Education defined in the regulations of the “Bologna Process”, which typically provides 60-120 ECTS credits (minimum 60 ECTS for the master’s level).

The 1st level master corresponds to level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework (Master’s Degree, 2nd level Academic Diploma, 1st level University Master, Specialisation Academic Diploma I, Postgraduate Diploma or Master I).

Professional Programs:

Picture of English-taught University in Southern Italy / NaplesOur professional courses have been conceived with an approach oriented towards a practical preparation. They provide the basic theoretical knowledge and the tools and skills required by the labor market. Apprenticeships form an integral part of the courses: for eligible students, a training experience is provided in a private company – or, in alternative a job shadowing experience – that covers at least 30% of the total duration of the course. This path aims to establish a strong and lasting bond between students and the companies where they work, with the aim of also developing innovation skills – now increasingly required and essential for entry into the world of work. At least 50% of teachers come from the corporate world to allow students to develop the skills required by businesses.

The Professional Certificate courses relate to the following sectors:

- Intensive Course in Culinary Arts EQF 5
- Professional Course in Computer Technician EQF 4
- Aesthetic arts, professional body arts and hairdressers
- Innovative technologies for cultural heritage and activities – Tourism
- New Technologies of life
- New Technologies for Made in Italy
- Music
