Online Arcade Strategy Game - Orbitron
Orbitron is a fun and addicting, old-school space invaders arcade-style game for kids, teens and family that combines accurate mouse control and reaction skills, tower defense strategy, alien shooting, and a clever use of upgrades and defensive buildings. As Chief Orbit Protector, you are in charge of constructing Tetris block-like defensive walls, eliminating enemies, and keeping your ‘orbit’ (base) safe from wave after wave of enemy attacks.
Reasons to play this fast-paced, online arcade game: Put your reaction speed and strategy skills to the test! Fans of classic space invaders games should enjoy the retro game interface and action here. However, there is also a more modern, futuristic aspect to the game. This is far from a simple, one-dimensional shooting challenge – You also have to construct protective barriers and use good strategy to survive the constant onslaught from enemy alien spacecraft.
Strategy to win: You really need to exhibit fast reactions, sharp hand-eye coordination, and smart observation skills here. Accurate mouse and keyboard control skills are also important. Your decision-making and battle strategy skills need to be hot and ‘on point’! When and where you place defensive measures is the key to you going ‘deep’ into the levels here.
How to Play: A Flash-based, skill and strategy game for notebook, laptop and desktop PC / Mac (with certain browsers). In each progressively-difficult level / stage, your goal is to survive the waves of enemy spacecraft by eliminating them before they reach your ‘Orbit’ at the bottom of the game screen. Enemies descend toward your ship and Orbit, and attempt to penetrate the curved white line of your Orbit.
Move your ship horizontally left and right using your computer mouse cursor. Left Click (and hold) to fire your missiles. You can also release an ‘EMP’ by pressing the Spacebar on your keyboard. This weapon eliminates all enemies within range, but you can only use it a limited number of times. In between levels, you can use hard-earned virtual income to purchase defensive walls. These take the shape of Tetris-style blocks, and can be placed into the defensive zone just above your ship and Orbit. You can also use virtual funds to purchase weapon upgrades, extra lives, extra EMPs, and more.
Keep an eye on your Orbit’s Health level in the top left corner of the play area. You begin the game with a maximum health of 40. However, this number drops by one for each enemy ship that penetrates your defenses. Once your Orbit Health reaches zero, it's game over.
