Balance Scales Game Online - Stabilize
Stabilize is a very straight-forward yet challenging skill-based balancing game where you have to drop a set number of randomly-shaped blocks onto a loosely-positioned scale (beam) below. Each block must be played, and you can only afford to ‘lose’ two blocks or less in each level; if more than two objects fall out of the game zone, you lose that level! You have two areas on either side of the fulcrum (the gravitational central point) from which to drop your blocks, and you need to very carefully decide when and where to make that all-important Click!
This physics-based online game could be used as a fun exercise for young children learning about balancing, scales, and the effects of gravity. Older players should also enjoy the suspense-filled action, with a constant stream of exciting ‘will it / wont it fall’ moments to get your puzzle-pulses racing! A high level of concentration, quick reactions, and an ability to think logically and make good decisions are all important skills required here. So, it’s time to ‘scale’ the new heights as part of your balancing act! Be brave, and good luck!
How to Play: (Note: After the game loads, click on the blue ‘Continue’ button in the bottom right corner of the game screen in order to load the main menu screen.) There are two playing modes to choose from; Campaign Mode, and Free Play Mode. In Campaign Mode, you take on 15 increasingly challenging balancing levels, while Free Play Mode consists of one single unlimited free-for-all level where you see how many blocks you can drop onto the scale before it tips. For beginners, we recommend to start off by playing Campaign Mode (which has three difficulty levels; Easy, Normal, and Hard. The higher the difficult level you choose, the more points you score for each completed level).
In Campaign Mode, you have to drop every "Remaining" block onto the horizontal scale at the bottom of the game zone, and hope that your structure remains balanced for 5 seconds at the end of the level (once all blocks are ’in-play’). Using your computer mouse or touchpad, Left Click in either of the two large shaded areas in order to drop a block. When you hover your mouse in one of these areas, you see a faint outline of the block that is going to descend into play once you make your Click. You then have to think about where best to drop that block.
Once all of the blocks are in-play, a 5 second countdown begins. If sufficient blocks remain on the game screen after the 5 seconds, you can progress to the next level by clicking on the ‘Continue’ button in the bottom right corner. However, if more than 2 blocks fall off of the side of the scale and disappear beyond the bottom of the play zone, you fail the level. If this happens, click on the ‘Retry’ button in the bottom left corner in order to restart the level. You can see how many blocks you have lost / how many are remaining in the top left corner of the game zone. Happy balancing!
