This fun and fast-paced equestrian sports game is all about pinpoint timing and speedy keyboard tapping skills. You need to exhibit the dexterous knack of increasing your horse’s momentum at the right time to force your way to the front of the pack. The controls are extraordinarily simple but mastering them to the point where your horse is a Champion can prove exceedingly tricky. Horse racing is known as the sport of kings; can you add your name to the pantheon of greats that have graced this noble sport? Have you got the stamina and tenacity needed to become a top jockey? How to Play: When the game initially loads, click on the button that says ‘ga verder’ (meaning to continue in Dutch!) to begin the game. There are 5 increasingly challenging races that you must win in order to become the ultimate Derby Racing Champion; the Amateur Derby, the University Derby, the National Derby, the Inter-Continental Derby, and the World Derby Championship. Each race features 8 horses, and the length of each race increases as you progress (i.e. the first race is 100 meters; the 5th race is 500 meters). In each race, you control the horse that starts in Trap 4. Your jockey has a red top (silks), a red hat, and blue trousers (jodhpurs).

Use the Left and Right Arrow Keys on your computer keyboard to control your horse and jockey. Quickly press the Left and Right Arrows alternatively to increase your horse’s speed and momentum. The faster you alternate between the two keys, the faster your horse runs. However, if you accidentally press both Arrow Keys at the same time, your horse falls awkwardly forward, costing you valuable time. The difficult part is that you must finish in "1st place" to progress to the next race. If you are placed lower, click on the ‘Restart Challenge’ button at the bottom of the game screen to replay the race.
