Starshine is a challenging and unusual shooting-based puzzle and skill game where you must fire a beam of light at a dimmed star, and hope that it sets off a chain reaction causing other beams of light to ricochet off of each other in order to illuminate all of the stars in each level! You simply have to fire the initial shot, and try to ensure that the resulting beam deflections light up every star in the vicinity.
This innovative brain teaser activity for both young and older kids offers 50 problem solving levels, and an absolute galaxy of possible solutions. Important here is to judge the possible trajectory of each illuminated star so that you can predict the chain reaction of light beams, and engineer a solution in each level. Supreme patience and the dogged determination of a lion are required to succeed. Ok Star Shooter, it’s time to light up the night sky!
How to Play: In each of the 50 progressively challenging levels, your objective is to illuminate all of the stars in the sky. To do this, you have to fire an initial beam of light at one of the dimmed stars, and try to ensure that it sets off a chain reaction that lights up all of the other stars in the level. Once a beam of light comes into contact with a star, that star then sends out two further beams of light, depending on the direction from which it was originally hit. So, in later levels when there are large numbers of stars available, you can have beams of light flashing around everywhere (and hopefully illuminating all of the stars in the sky).
You only have 1 shot in each level, and this originates from the outer ring that encircles the groups of stars. Use your computer mouse or touchpad to aim the circular marker on the outer circle, and Left Click to fire. The star(s) that would be hit by your shot helpfully indicate which way they would emit their own beams of light, giving you a good idea of where the chain reaction will begin / end. If your shot results in all of the stars becoming illuminated, you progress to the next level. If any dimmed stars still remain, click the ‘Retry’ button to try again.
