Fun Online Badminton Game
Grab your racket and let’s play badminton! Anyone who’s also a fan of tennis, squash or any racket-sports should try Badminton, a 1 player game where you play against the computer. This tricky online indoor sports game has all the features of an authentic game of badminton. Badminton is an intensive racket (racquet) sport, but instead of hitting a ball, you hit an flying object called a shuttlecock over a highly-placed net in the center of the playing area (court).
The rules are similar to tennis, but in badminton, once the shuttlecock hits the ground - that’s the end of the rally (turn.) The aim in each rally is to get the shuttlecock to land on your opponent's side of the net, or to force your opponent to hit the shuttlecock out of the court. You’ll need to have quick reactions in this challenging game as you have to rush around the court to hit the shuttlecock back over the net. Think you can become the Badminton Master? How to Play: The opening words are in French, so click "Nouvelle partie" which means New Game here. Use your computer keyboard to control your player. You are always on the left hand side of the game screen. Use your Arrow Keys to move your player around the court. To swing your racket, hit the X key.
You must try to position your character right underneath the oncoming shuttlecock, otherwise he’ll hit fresh air and you lose the rally! To get more power in your shot, hit the Z key to leap into the air, then hit the X key while in the air. If you connect with the shuttlecock while in the air, you hit a really good shot. At the start of the game, the serve (the action of hitting first), alternates between the players.
To score a point, you must win two rallies in a row. Once you do that, you have ‘Serve’ - and you score a point every time you win a rally on your serve. If your opponent wins a rally on your serve, it goes back to alternating serves until someone wins two points in a row. There is no score limit so you can play for as long as you like!
Tip: Press the Right Arrow key just as you strike the shuttlecock to put extra length into the shot. This puts your opponent under pressure at the deep end of the court.
