Located in the town of Mortola at the border of the Italian Riviera and the famous French "Cote d'Azur", accademia d'arte is a specialized art holiday school in Italy that offers painting and sculpture classes and workshops for beginner to advanced artists. International artist Nicole Durand offers painting, drawing and scuplture classes and workshops for beginners to advanced artists. All classes can be taught in English, Italian and French.

We also provide cooking lessons, food and wine tasting, and other excursions to allow you to fully experience Italian culture. Each student is assigned a semi private studio to study and develop their own personal work, with 24 hour access, in a safe environment at the school.

Italian Art Courses / Programs:

Normally students come for short periods (one to 3 months) however there are many students who choose to remain longer. We organize housing for each student close to the studio. Non-painting partners are welcome.

Classes / Workshops offered include:
- Painting
- Landscape drawing
- Sculpture

We teach many techniques including on site drawing, learning about persperctive, watercolour, charcoal, anatomical studies, clay modelling, stone or wood carving. Throughout the village and out in nature are wonderful motifs and views to paint and draw.

We also provide cooking lessons, food and wine testing, and excursions (including museums visits).

Excursions:
- Picasso's museum in Antibes,
- Renoir's private house In Cagnes sur mer, also possible by train.
- Matisse and Chagali musems in Nice 10 minutes from each other,

All excursions are possible by train (one hour maximum from Menton train station). With possibility of visiting old towns and having lunch. Possibility of car rentals also.

International artist Nicole Durand has been teaching in school of fine arts in Switzerland, France and Italy. She also teaches art therapy and sculpture.

Accommodation:

Nicole Durand organizes housing for each student, close to the studio. Accommodations are based on each student's requirement. Accommodations are possible in one of the guestrooms or in a separate apartment.

The simultaneous use of the facilities by several colleagues is possible. For special housing situations, we will assist you in finding the type of accommodations required.

There is a free Wi FI internet connection. Facilities in villa d'arte are simple and involve stairs and hills, and are not suitable for people with special needs.
