Arts by the Lake at Long Bay Camp, Westport

Located on the shores of Bobs Lake in Westport, near Ottawa, eastern Ontario in east-central Canada, Long Bay offers summer camps specializing in visual arts, drama, music and dance camps for children and teenagers aged 9-16. Our camp program involving drawing, painting, mask making, sculpting, photography, drama/theatre, rock guitar, African dance and creative writing includes instruction from wonderful and talented art teachers who are specialists in their artistic field. Your children will explore their creativity, learn new skills and make new friends, all in a fun, safe and beautiful camp atmosphere. Our summer sessions are designed for young people of all backgrounds whether they have experience or are just beginning to discover the world of art. Long Bay Camp takes pride in its well-cared-for facility that allows campers to explore nature in a safe, natural environment. Along with the cool arts program, campers will have opportunities to participate in field sports like soccer, volleyball, ultimate frisbee, to enjoy campfires, nature hikes, swimming and canoeing. We are just a short drive from Ottawa, Kingston, Montreal and Toronto.

We will open through the summer !! Soroban helps build self-confidence and strengthens children’s ability to think critically and creatively. Children start as early as Kindergarten. The Soroban method helps one easily understand number concepts and is a comprehensive system for embracing concepts and high achievement in mathematics.
The use of the Soroban abacus uses a left to right calculation method, which makes quick estimation and rounding off possible. It improves the understanding of compounded numbers (the Soroban uses supplementary numbers for 5 and 10). The Soroban visually shows the concepts of decimal places and the progression of units by tens. The Soroban develops not only greater mental capacity, but mental calculation, which is the ultimate resource.
Japanese children proficient in the Soroban (Japanese parents often send their children to Soroban tutors for training) can eventually visualize the Soroban in their minds and do high level arithmetic without the aid of any calculating tool. The Soroban instantly accomplishes addition and subtraction when you placed the numbers on the abacus.

Every summer, Tamwood International Colllege runs an English language summer camp for kids and teens ages 7-17 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The summer camp program happens on the campus of Simon Fraser University (SFU) and features English language classes, exciting lessons in sports and creative activities, cultural events and sightseeing excursions in and around Vancouver. Courses / Programs
Main Street Community Services in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, is a not for profit community agency. Using a pro-active and cognitive-behavioral approach to learning, our Social Skills Day Camp in Ottawa enables children, ages 5-14, to develop satisfying interpersonal relationships by enhancing skill proficiency in a variety of areas that foster social competency. All staff are university/college educated and trained (including dedicated Developmental Service workers, Social workers and Teachers) with several years of direct experience in this field. The Director, a clinical counsellor and a behavioural specialist are on hand always and have a Master’s level of education.

Located in Squamish, BC (one hour from Vancouver), Quest University Canada is Canada's first independent, not-for-profit, nonsectarian university of the liberal arts and sciences. Our Summer Scholars program is a pre-university summer program for exceptional high school students (Grades 10 - 12). The program runs over three weeks and consists of one-week courses on a variety of topics. Students can choose to attend for one, two, or three weeks. The program is available as a residential program or a day camp for local commuters.Our Summer Scholars program is designed to inspire the next generation of thinkers and leaders. You will experience a week of engaging in an academic course in the mornings, and participating in related social and recreational activities in the afternoons and evenings.
