In order to better enjoy your French Immersion stay in Quebec City, you have made the "wise" decision to take advantage of the homestay program. Here is what you can expect and what is expected of you:

1- You have to contact your hosts before your arrival to make sure someone will be there to greet you.
2- You arrive at your homestay on the Sunday before your course starts and you leave the Saturday after your last French class.
3- Your homestay program includes a single room, breakfast and dinner;
4- You must provide your own personal hygiene products (soap, toothpaste, shampoo, etc.);
5- Your hosts accompany you during most evening meals so that you can have the opportunity to exchange with them in French.

There are, of course, rules that you must follow when staying in a homestay. Upon your arrival, you should establish a climate of respect and ask your hosts what the rules of the house are regarding showers, laundry, phone use, dietary restrictions, noise, guests, and so on. Thus, you will not commit a faux pas and you will have a most pleasant stay.

As for sports facilities, they suit all tastes. All winter sports can be enjoyed in or around Quebec City. Students will find outdoor and indoor skating rinks along with trails for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and walking on the Plains of Abraham. Near the city, many snowboarding, alpine and cross-country skiing resorts are to be found in spectacular locations. Snowmobiling and dog sledding are also very popular.
