Design Courses in Venice, Italy

IED Venezia:
Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) is an international design educational network with schools located in Venice, Milan, Rome, and Turin in Italy; Madrid and Barcelona in Spain and Sao Paulo in Brazil. We offer three-year post-secondary school courses, advanced one-year courses and Masters programs in the fields of Design, Fashion, Visual Arts and Communications.

IED Venice offers the following programs:

Master Programs:

Yacht Design and Construction - 18 months (taught in English):
The Master course aims at training professionals able to completely manage the design and construction of a boat by starting from the concept up to the actual construction in yard, by mastering each aspect of the executive step. In every aspect of the execution phase, the students will be accompanied by the experience and competence of the most important international professionals of the field.

The Master offers comprehensive training that enables both professional and employment opportunities in offices of naval architecture, interior design studios of motor-yachts and sailboats. Other uses and employment opportunities are possible within technical offices and shipyards both as designers, architects and, after due training, as a project manager.

The Master course is addressed to professionals who want to further their specific skills in the yacht design and construction field, such as graduates in architecture, design and engineering or, anyway, anyone having suitable skills and working in the field.

Arts Management  - 18 months (taught in English):
An Arts Manager is a new figure, one who is able to identify original contents and organize a detailed programming of event characteristics, as well as planning and fundraising necessary resources. They also have an essential understanding of the strategic positioning of cultural products.

The Course also gives the graduate the ability to be in charge, as a Cultural Manager, of financing and managing cultural organizations, defining the product and services of the organization in the context of a specific Arts market. The student will learn to coordinate organizational activities and to be in charge of the communication process with both public and private organizations.

The Master in Arts Management is subdivided into three operational modules that have an individual study path related to the city they are in. Each module will end with an exam and a final project. The courses are partly carried through the entirety of the Masters and partly specific to the different locations. The fields emphasized in Rome will be Economy and Culture, in Florence Events Planning and Management and in Venice Artistic Direction. During the last stretch of the course the final event will be analyzed and organized; a project articulated so that each student or student group will be confronted with the realities of the Artistic and Cultural fields in order to conclude a real project in the city of Venice.

PhotoArt Workshop - 120 hours (taught in Italian):
A proposal including many workshops dedicated to photography. An occasion to experiment the mostimportant aspects of each selected area in order to enjoy very important interchanging experiences.
