English Language Courses:

Our English Language courses provide training of the highest quality and offer a wide range of English courses at different language levels. Courses are designed in modular format, so that students can enter a course at any time during the year Students can also study for and undertake the IELTS examination and various Cambridge ESOL examinations.

General English Courses:
Our English-language courses are designed and structured at different levels to enable international students to develop all 4 language skills, as well as their knowledge of grammar and vocabulary, at a language level to suit their needs. Our system of learning also enables students at an Intermediate level of English and above to progress to one or more of our specialised study programmes. The courses are conducted around a busy social and activity programme.

Our General English Courses are modular in format so that students join a course at any time throughout the year and study for periods that suit their personal circumstances. We offer a choice of 4 study programmes that vary in intensity to suit particular needs.

Academic English & IELTS Examination Preparation:
Our courses in Academic English & IELTS Examination Preparation are modular in format, so that students can join the courses at any time throughout the year and study for periods that suit their personal circumstances. The courses are suitable for those who have an Intermediate level in English or above, who require an internationally-recognised English language qualification to verify their academic English language ability to universities, colleges of further education or future employers.

There are 2 study options: the AEI 30 (30 lessons weekly which is equivalent to 22.5 hours) and the more intensive AEI 40 (40 lessons weekly which is equivalent to 30 hours). The courses are offered at different language levels, can be joined on most Mondays throughout the year, and can be studied for periods of between 4 and 48 weeks. The course syllabi includes extensive IELTS Examination Preparation and Academic Study Skills. The course is constructed around a busy social and activity programme.

General English, Computing & IT Skills:
Our course in General English, Computing & IT Skills comprises 30 lessons (22.5 hours) weekly. The course enables participants to English-language communication skills, while also developing their knowledge of Microsoft software, computers, computing and IT skills. The course is designed for those with an Intermediate level in English on entry and can be studied for periods of between 4 and 12 weeks. The computing and IT skills elements offer tutor-guided project work and the use of a variety of basic IT computer software packages.

Participants choosing the full 12-week option can aquire the International Computer Driving Licence® (ICDL) qualification. However, it is recommended that those wishing to complete the full ICDL syllabus and acquire the ICDL should join the course at commencement of the January, March, July or September academic terms. The course is conducted around a busy social and activity programme.

Summer Courses:
Our summer courses in English can be from one to 12 weeks' duration. Students can undertake a variety of English language courses, prepare for the IELTS examination, or University of Cambridge ESOL examinations, or alternatively study various business courses, or specialised courses, and obtain academic and business qualifications. In their free time, students can participate in our busy social and activity programme, or involve themselves in the comprehensive selection of leisure and sporting activities available in Bournemouth both during the day and in the evenings.

Our vocational Business English courses, and wide range of certificate, higher-certificate and diploma courses are extremely popular. Subjects include management, business, marketing, finance, hospitality, tourism, law, science, technology and IT. All courses include extensive and supportive English-Language elements.
