St Brelade's College, Jersey:
St Brelade's College is an English language school offering summer courses for children / teenagers aged 10-18 years. Our summer / holiday programmes for juniors include intensive English courses, private English lessons and homestay / residential programmes on the British island of Jersey in the Channel Islands. Our school is located approximately 20 miles off the French coast and 80 miles south of England.
English Language Summer Holiday Programmes (Individuals or groups)During the summer, there are three campuses provided for children and teenagers
English Language Summer Holiday Course for Juniors (10-13 years)
Our junior pupils attend English language classes (15 hours per week) at our junior school, not far from the main college. Morning classes are geared towards a younger age group.
We also organise a separate activities programme in the afternoons, supervised by the class teachers.
English Language Summer Holiday Course for Teenagers (13-18 years)
We provide our teenage classes (15 hours per week) at Highlands College, the local college of further education, with well-equipped classrooms, cafeteria and spacious grounds on the outskirts of St Helier.
English Language Intensive Course for Teenagers (16-18 years)Our intensive English language courses (22.5 hours per week) are offered for students at our main college for adults. These intensive classes are recommend for more serious and mature young students.
Course Schedules:
The morning schedule is the same for all students.
* 9.00 - 10.30: 1st & 2nd lessons
* 10.30 - 11.00: Break
* 11.00 - 12.30: 3rd & 4th lessons
* 12.30 - 13.30: Lunch
Afternoon and evening schedules vary according to the programme. The choice of activities includes outdoor, evening and weekend activities. Students following intensive courses have additional lessons in the afternoon in small groups.
Teaching Methods:
The main focus of our teaching is on communication, through the use of a variety of methods and teaching materials to help students increase their conversational fluency.
With our small classes, teachers can adapt their methods to the individual needs of each student / group.
