At Aikido Florida Aikikai in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, we teach the ancient martial-arts tradition of Aikido to adults, kids and teens of all ages and levels from our location in the heart of the city. Aikido is a Japanese of martial-art based on self defense that is performed by blending with the motion of the attacker and redirecting the force of the attack rather than opposing it head-on. We offer beginner, mixed and advanced levels of Aikido training to students of all ages.

Adult Programs
Aikido can be practiced by men and women of all ages. Classes are taught 7 days a week at basic, mixed, and advanced levels. You may observe any class and, upon enrolling, beginners may join any basic or mixed classes. Aikido is not a sport, and there are no competitive tournaments. Students learn through repetitive practice, taking turns as attackers and defenders in an energetic yet studious atmosphere. Classes follow a six month curriculum with focus on one specific set of techniques each month. After the first six months of training students have been exposed to and have a working knowledge of the core techniques of Aikido. 

Childrens Programs
The martial art of Aikido helps children to develop the skills and qualities they will need to succeed in their future. We teach children to be:

Children work with partners and in groups, learning to cooperate with peers and to show respect for others.

- Focused and Calm
From our opening meditation and fun-filled warm up games to the careful study of a challenging technique, children practice being aware, relaxed, and attentive to details.

- Agile and Strong
Aikido practice cultivates flexibility, agility, coordination, fitness, and strength.

We provide kids programs for the following age groups:
- Little Samurai (Ages 2-4)
- Juniors (Ages 5-7)
- Seniors (Ages 8-11)
- Teens (Ages 12+)
