ESAFC Design Textile, Paris:
ESAFC (École Supérieure d’Art Françoise Conte) located in the lively Bastille area of Paris, France, is a fashion design school offering a 3 year diploma in Textile and Surface Design. The textile surface designer has an essential role in the world of fashion. They forecast fashion phenomena and define on-coming trends. They seek to obtain the fibers, materials, patterns and colours for the different fields of application. Throughout the course, students undertake a number of work placement internships which are an indispensable complement to their studies.

Working as a stylist, designer or colourist, the textile and surface designer advises and helps the editors and manufacturers with the conception of their products. His/Her ideas, projects and maquettes orientate and personalize their production. Salaried or self-employed, the textile designer works in a firm, a style agency or a creation workshop.

Work Placement / Internships:
Throughout their course, students follow a number of training periods (under collective agreement). Carefully selected, these internships take place in companies with which the school has regular contact. These immersions in the working world are an indispensable complement to the courses provided by the school.

Showroom Visits and Exhibitions:
Paris remains the hub of the fashion world, and professionals come from all around to visit major showrooms and exhibitions like Première Vision, Expofil, Indigo, Maison et Objet, Midec, ready-to-wear showrooms, Who’s Next, Biennale des Editeurs de la Décoration, fashion and decoration showrooms. Visiting these exhibits immerse the students in the professional fashion world and is considered an indispensable part of their studies.
