Our language school located in the heart of Athens, Greece, on the famous shopping street Ermou - 5 minutes walk from both Monastiraki and Syntagma metro stations. We offer Modern Greek courses of high standard and affordable prices to students of all levels. Our courses range in length from a one week intensive course to courses that stretch throughout the whole year. Our primary goal is to accommodate each student’s needs and we can provide flexible hours and customised courses.

General Information about the courses:- Size of groups: 2-8 participants.
- New students are given a placement test in order to find their appropriate level.
- At the end of each course participants receive a certificate of attendance.
- Fifty minute session per teaching hour.

2. Private lessons
This flexible course is designed and responsive those who have limited time and desire a fast and efficient acquisition of the language. It is also recommended to individuals who wish to practice and extend their existing language skills. Cost: 20 € / hour per person
* prices are indicative and calculated on the base of a course of 1 hour / week. They can be readjusted based on the frequency and the number of the courses.
3. Business Specialized Courses
These specialized and flexible courses will adjust to the requirements of each individual business and organization so as to attend to the needs of its´executives. Each course aims to satisfy the specific objectives of each individual participant in terms of his/her work requirements. It is designed for people who experience time shortage and thus are in need of fast and efficient language acquisition. The dates, time, place as well as the specific requirements of each course will be adjusted to ones needs. All courses will be tailored made. Costs: 40 € * / hour per person 60 € * / hour for groups of 2-5 individuals 70 € * / hour for group of 6-8 individuals

For Swedish citizens: Our courses are approved by CSN and you can therfore apply for finacial student aid if you wish to attend one of our courses.
Our primary objective is to assist participants in applying their native language communication skills to the Greek language and culture.
Oral skills are given priority; learning to listen and understand as well as to speak correctly with proper pronunciation. The ultimate goal is to lead participants to a level of efficient communication, which requires a solid base of language skills and a real understanding of the cultural context. Through communication activities, along with exercises in grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and culture, each participant will learn to:
- Understand, using real audio and video taken from films, TV, radio, music.
- Speak,using role-plays, debates, social interaction, experiencing real life in Athens; theatre workshops including practical activities, with improvisation exercises to improve basic skills and to remove inhibition; and pronunciation, speaking flow and gesture.
- Read, analysing authentic texts from Greek newspapers and magazines, business, literature, government documents, etc.
- Write, using various texts with precise communication goals and linguistic development. Grammar is approached through language games and exercises.
Our school's team is composed of trained teachers, all native speakers, with rich and varied experience in teaching Modern Greek as a foreign language. All teachers speak English and French, which helps in establishing a cultural interface and facilitates communication at the early stages.
The teachers create an atmosphere of confidence and relaxed good humour which eases the stress of the learning process. Attentive to the specific difficulties and needs of each participant, our teachers are free to adapt their programmes as required.
Together they are involved in research projects, development of teaching material, and creation of pedagogical activities.
Our teachers also train other language teachers in Greece.

Please note that the accommodation stretches from the night before the course starts until the day after the course finishes. If you wish to prolong your stay please inform Anixi with the exact dates.
Living alternative A Our apartments are spread across the city center close to public transport. You will share bathroom and kitchen with the others and you can choose to live in a shared or single bedroom. Each apartment has its own washing machine, Internet and a fully equipped kitchen.

Living alternative B You will live in the city center in the Akropolis area, close to Akropolis metro station. You will have the old town Plaka and the flea market Monastiraki within walking distance. The apartments and dormitory rooms are all bright, clean and with modern furniture. You will find laundry service, a sports bar and a cafe all inside the building as well as a 24h security and help desk.
B 1. Live in your own apartment with all bills included* (WiFi, AC, daily cleaning service and free breakfast buffet). The apartment has an equipped kitchen with fridge, microwave, ceramic top stove, pots and pans etc. Separate sitting room, balcony, flat screen TV, daily cleaning service and change of towels.

B 2. Live in a dormitory with all bills included (WiFi, AC, cleaning service and free breakfast buffet). The dormitory has an equipped kitchenette with fridge, ensuite bathroom, balcony, TV, daily cleaning service and change of towels. Each room has space for a maximum of six people.

Living alternative C Live in a hotel located in the center of Athens, in a quiet road, next the Old Town Hall on Athinas street. The location of the hotel allows you easy access to the most interesting places in Athens such as Plaka area, the flea market (Monastiraki), Acropolis, National Archaelogical museum and Syntagma square. You will also live close to the green line that takes you straight to school.
Laundry service exists close by. Internet (WiFi) costs 3 Euro for 12 hours or you can use the computers in the breakfast area for free.

Lord Byron Schools of Languages provides year-round modern Greek language courses in our city centre school in Thessaloniki in Central Macedonia in Northern Greece, approximately 515 km (320 miles) north of Athens. We offer special tailor-made courses in Greek for specific purposes, activities and entertainment during the week, excursions and visits on a weekly basis and much more. We also have an international summer school in Gerakini and Ouranoupoli, Chalkidiki in West Macedonia in Northern Greece. From Thessaloniki, Gerakini is 80 km (50 miles) and Ouranoupoli is 140 km (87 miles). Our summer school runs during the holidays with 4 or 5 hours Greek language tuition per day. All our teachers are highly experienced, hold university degrees and are bilingual.

Established in 1998 in the Glyfada area of southern Athens, Babel Language Centre provides modern Greek language courses to adult learners from around the world.The courses at Babel Language Centre are designed for both the serious and the casual learner.
