Sherwood Forest Montessori School:
Sherwood Forest Montessori School, located in West Houston in Harris County, Texas, is an independent learning environment offering educational programs for children aged eighteen months through grade six. Our school offers a flexible range of year round programs for children from 18 months through the sixth grade with enrollment accepted throughout the year. We are expertly staffed with American Montessori Society certified teachers, Montessori interns and trained assistants. Together, we work to create stimulating learning environments full of materials and activities to interest and challenge the children.

Sherwood Forest Montessori School is a privately owned school and is run by a director who coordinates the program and a staff of highly trained teachers and administrators. All policies and procedures are developed by the director and staff and are periodically reviewed and changed to meet the current needs of the school population. The school offers an educational program for children age eighteen months through grade six. Developmentally appropriate programs are led by Montessori certified and college educated teachers.

Accreditation:
Our school is accredited by the American Montessori Society and by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs. Sherwood Forest acts as a model for the training of other teachers, for we often have intern teachers working in our programs.

Toddler Community program:
- Prepared environment for children 18 to 36 months

Early Childhood program:
- Children aged three to six years including kindergarten

Elementary Class program:
- Children aged six to twelve years

Our Teachers:
Teachers are certified by the American Montessori Society. Each classroom is prepared and directed by a Montessori certified teacher. A full range of materials follows the Montessori curriculum as prescribed by the training centers the teachers attended.

Most of our staff have been trained at the Houston Montessori Center which is a teacher education center certified by the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (M.A.C.T.E). and the Texas Workforce Commission.
