Shankill Languages offers language tuition in Shankill, a suburb in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County in south-east Dublin. We offer language classes for students of all ages. We specialise in providing grinds for Leaving Certificate & Junior Certificate students preparing for their French, Irish, Spanish, German and Italian exams.

We have been helping students achieve significant improvement in their grades for a number of years in all major Leaving Cert languages in the south east Dublin area. Expert tuition in small classes is the key to this success. This gift of language, however is a lifetime gift and the languages mastered at Shankill Languages will remain with the student way beyond the exams, opening doors in business, travel, friendships and culture which will last a lifetime.

Location:

Shankill Languages is conveniently situated in a quiet cul-de-sac, just 200 metres from the Shankill DART station (convenient to Bray and all of south east Dublin). Students learn in a small classroom with a maximum of six students per class which is perfect for an intensive learning experience. Audio-visual and IT tools are also used to enhance aural comprehension.

Language Classes:
- Grinds for Leaving Cert. & Junior Cert. students preparing for their French, Irish, Spanish, German and Italian exams. Our emphasis is on the oral section of the exams which will comprise 40% of the Irish Leaving Cert exam from 2012, including new picture sequences.

- Language lessons for students of all ages to help confidence and fluency

- Language programmes for adult students including third level support

- Business and professional programmes

Teaching Methods:

Our priority is to promote an understanding of the grammar structure, often lacking in larger classes in school, to significantly reduce error and thereby improving scores. This understanding coupled with intensive conversation, replicating where necessary exam conditions, and intense aural comprehension to accustom the ear gradually to pick up dialogue and information given add to an overall enhancement of confidence and fluency which is invariably reflected in the results.

International Summer School - Galway
Courses / Programs
The International Summer School at National University of Ireland, Galway offers a number of English Language Summer courses – General English at Intermediate, Advanced and Proficiency Levels and Business and Executive English. These courses are not designed for beginners. Students must be 18 years or over, and must already have at least elementary standard. Studying in Galway will give students an opportunity to improve their English in the attractive environment of the West of Ireland. Classes will be restricted in size appropriate to intensive English language tuition. The courses are structured to cover grammar, conversation/culture and listening comprehension.
