The English Academy, Dublin:
The English Academy, Dublin is centrally located on O’Connell Street, right in the city centre. The English Academy provides year-round English language courses at all levels for international students. We are specialists in Cambridge and IELTS exam preparation courses which equip students with the English qualifications needed to secure themselves a better job, career or for entry to university. We are an Official Cambridge ESOL Examination Centre, the only one in Dublin city centre, and we were the first active Cambridge computer-based test centre in Ireland. Our academy is also a Cambridge ESOL teacher training centre, running the internationally recognised CELTA.

English Language Courses:

We offer a wide range of English language courses for all levels from beginner to advanced:

- General (Cambridge) English Language Courses:
Before you start a course at the English Academy you will be required to do a level assessment test. Based on your score, in this test, you will be placed in one of the levels set out below:

* Elementary (Alte Level Break Through. CEFR A1)
* Pre-intermediate (Alte Level 1. CEFR A2) Cambridge KET
* Intermediate (Alte Level 2. CEFR B1) Cambridge PET
* Upper-intermediate (Alte Level 3. CEFR B2) Cambridge FCE
* Advanced (Alte Level 4. CEFR C1) Cambridge CAE
* Proficiency (Alte Level 5. CEFR C2) Cambridge CPE

Then, on the first few days of your course all your language skills will be reassessed by your experienced teacher who will look carefully at how you communicate and interact in English with your classmates. Throughout your course, your progress will be constantly monitored and fed back to you. As soon as you have made the necessary improvement you will be invited to join studies at the next level.

Cambridge English is everyday English. It improves your overall English for every day living and working in any English speaking country. All our courses have an equal mix of all skills (Reading, writing, grammar, speaking and listening).

- English Language Exam Preparation Courses:
We offer preparation courses for Cambridge & IELTS (The International English Language Testing System) exams: 

Cambridge exams include:  KET (Key English Test), PET (Preliminary English Test), FCE (First Certificate in English), CAE (Certificate in Advanced English) & CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English).

IELTS is an international standardised test of English language proficiency. More than half a million candidates sit the test each year.

- Becas MEC Courses: 
We welcome students from Spain who wish to avail of Becas Mec grants for study from the Spanish Ministry of Education. This course offers students the opportunity to improve their English reading, writing, use of English and fluency skills.

- Homestay Programme with a Local English-Speaking Host Family:
Students have the opportunity to totally immerse themselves in the English language by living locally with an English-speaking family.

The Common European Framework of Reference:  All courses and exams at The English Academy Dublin are aligned to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: published by the Council of Europe. This internationally recognised framework describes language ability in a scale of levels which ranges from A1 for beginners to C2 for those who have mastered a language. Our qualifications are plotted against the six levels of the framework
