abbeySCHOOL CiaoItaly, Turin:
abbeySCHOOL CiaoItaly is an Italian language school located in Turin, Northern Italy that specialises in teaching Italian language and culture to foreigners. We offer group Italian courses, private lessons for adults and preparation for the CILS exam and guarantee a learning experience of the highest quality. We were awarded the UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 quality certification in 2007. Our decision to work with only small groups ensures that each participant has the opportunity to develop and improve their linguistic skills. Access to each course requires an entrance exam in order to form classes of a suitable level for all participants.
Our standard courses of Italian language and culture are organized for all levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced) and are established according to the needs of students. They vary in both intensity and duration.
Group courses start every second Monday of the month.
Individual lessons:
For people who desire to learn Italian with a fully personalised programme, these individual lessons are ideal for a student who wants to fulfill his/her professional requirements. These courses of at least 20 hours cater for all levels of Italian language knowledge (elementary, intermediate, advanced, conversation, business Italian, etc.).
The flexibility of this typology of course enables the school to organize programmes at any time of year, either intensively (on a daily basis) or according to the timetable proposed by the students.
Also these courses can be integrated with cultural activities and food and wine workshops.
Semi-individual Courses:
Composed of two students, the courses unite the accuracy and the flexibility of a one-to-one course with greater interactivity. All levels of knowledge of the Italian language, composed of 20 hours, (elementary, intermediate, advanced, conversation, business Italian, etc.) are also provided for those who desire a more personalised programme.
This course can also be organized at any time of year, either with intensive programmes or according to the timetable proposed by the participants. Also these courses can be integrated with cultural activities and food and wine workshops.
Mini groups:
Composed of three or four students, these courses unite the dynamism of a group course with the flexibility of a small group. They are ideal for students with specific attendance needs and timetables. They allow the achievement of linguistic skills adapted to the level taught more intensively.
The minimum duration of the courses is 1 week with attendance from 15 to 20 hours of lessons per week, and the courses can be extended to more than one week. Also in this case the lessons can be integrated, on demand, with guided tours in order to discover the local area, and visits to food and wine workshops.
Intensive group courses:
Composed of a minimum of five and a maximum of eight students, the courses are suitable for students who desire to learn language in a dynamic and fun environment. They allow the achievement of linguistic skills adapted to the level being taught: grammar structures, extension of vocabulary, learning and improvement of pronunciation, conversation, comprehension, reading and writing.
The minimum duration of the courses is 1 week with attendance from 15 to 20 hours of lessons per week, and the courses can be extended to more than one week.

Students (Polytechnic, Erasmus, IED) from any European university, upon presentation of their university registration documents, will receive their study material free of charge.
Courses for Asians:
On demand, they can be organized according to all the aforementioned typologies. They are characterized by programmes based on specially designed teaching methodologies, which take into consideration the phonetic and syntactic diversity of non-European languages, and by staff who are familiar with the main Asian languages.
Summer Courses:

The lessons, with a duration of 90 minutes each, can be arranged on a daily basis or be organized according to a different timetable.
International Exams
AbbeySCHOOL CiaoItaly also provides preparatory courses for the CILS exam of the Università per Stranieri di Siena (the University for Foreigners of Siena).
It provides an official qualification which declares one's level of communicative skill in Italian as a foreign language. All foreigners who intend to certify their knowledge of Italian language for study and/or work purposes can take such an exam also without having attended specific courses in Italian.
On the basis of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages proposed by the European Council, the exam provides certification for 6 levels of Italian language knowledge (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2) by means of 5 different tests of ability: listening, reading, analysis of communicative structure, writing and oral production.
In the event that the student passes only one or some of the 5 tests, it is possible to capitalize them and repeat the tests within a year.
