Lingua It, Verona: LINGUA IT is an Italian language school Realising that a language is more than a series of grammatical formulas, the teachers at LINGUA IT strive to immerse their students in a multi-faceted learning experience, one that comprises not only structured lessons and cultural tours but also the security of an easy-going and approachable ambient where students can let themselves go, in a home away from home.
Standard Language Course (Including the weekly Guided Tours): Classes in all Standard Italian Language Courses are held from 9.00am to 1.00pm, Mondays to Fridays. The first three hours of the italian language course are principally dedicated to grammar and syntax skills while the last hour is dedicated primarily to conversation and commincation skills. Each 4-hour morning session includes two short breaks totalling 20 minutes. Included in the Standard Language Course are two weekly afternoon activities: a guided tour of Verona with an Art History professor focusing on different aspects of the city’s art, architecture and history each week and the screening of an Italian film at the school. On the first day of our school LINGUA IT all students (beginners excluded) sit a short test to ascertain which italian course level is most appropriate for them to join. Students also take a test at the completion of each language course level to evaluate their progress and determine whether they are ready to move on to the next level. There are six standard italian language course levels.
The maximum number of students in any class is ten while a minimum requirement of three pupils is needed to activate the course.
Twin Language Courses(Including the weekly Guided Tours): This course is for two people of the same linguistic competency who would prefer personalised lessons (two students only) to larger group classes. The italian classes run for three hours each day for a total of 15 hours per week and are a significantly cheaper alternative to private lessons. Students sit an entrance test (voluntary for beginners) to ascertain their skills and they also sit a final test at the completion of the italian course to evaluate their progress. On Tuesday afternoons students of the Twin Language Course are invited to join other students on the free, guided Art History tours of Verona.
