The International School of Schaffhausen is located in Schaffhausen in northern Switzerland, 31 miles (51 km) north of Zurich. We offer high quality international education starting from primary through to secondary level. We are an authorized IB World School for the Primary Program and the Middle Years Programme and have the candidate status for the Diploma Program. We were set up to provide quality primary and secondary education to the international community in the Schaffhausen and Zurich North-East area.

ISSH is situated in Schaffhausen, 3 km from the main railway station. It is accessible by public transport (bus No 23), by road from Schaffhausen centre and from the motorway coming from Singen or Winterthur. An ISSH shuttle bus runs between the main station and the school in the morning and at hometime.

Directions / Instructions:

From Singen-Thayngen:
Between Thayngen and Schaffhausen exit direction Donaueschingen/Bargen. Take the
immediate next exit to SH-Schweizersbild. Turn right at the exit and drive to the main road,
there turn left (Merishausen/Mühlental) and follow the road for about 1 km until you come to
a roundabout. Our school is right from the roundabout, a large yellow timber house.

From Zürich-Winterthur-Schaffhausen:
Arriving on the motorway, drive on and take the exit Donaueschingen/Bargen. Take the
immediate next exit to SH-Schweizersbild. Turn right at the exit and drive to the main road,
there turn left (Merishausen/Mühlental) and follow the road for about 1 km until you come to
a roundabout. Our school is right from the roundabout, a large yellow timber house.

From Schaffhausen:
Follow the Rhine river on the main road and drive up Grabenstrasse to the main station of
Schaffhausen. At the second roundabout – at the backside of the station – turn left and follow
the road that takes you along the Mühlental. Drive on for about 3 km until you come to a
roundabout. Our school is straight over from the roundabout, a large yellow timber house.

By public transport:
Take bus No 23 (Schaffhausen-Bargen-Blumberg) from the main station of Schaffhausen.
Leaves every hour at 2 minutes past the hour. It takes 6 minutes to the school. The bus stop
is called “Logierhaus” and is right in front of the school building.
Return: Every hour at 48 minutes past the hour.
Buses No. 4 and 6 leave from the main station every ten (No. 4) or twenty (No. 6) minutes
and stop near the Logierhaus: Bus No. 4 at Birch, Bus No. 6 at Dachsenbüel. From both bus
stations it takes a 15 minutes walk to the Logierhaus.

John F. Kennedy International School, located in Saanen, in the canton of Bern, Switzerland, is a co-educational English-language boarding and day school for children ages 5 to 14 (grades K - 8).
