Léman International Academy, Geneva:
Léman International Academy (LIA) is a family-size French / English bilingual, Christian international school situated in Cologny in the Canton of Geneva in the southwest of Switzerland, approximately 5 km from Geneva City Centre. We welcome both French and English speaking students ages 3 to 11 years from all ethnic and religious backgrounds in a multi-cultural and supportive learning environment. We follow both the Swiss Plan d'Etudes Romand and the North American standards. Our approach is to facilitate learning in partnership with the student and his or her family. Our families love our values, our caring teachers and easily accessible location.

About Us:
At Léman International Academy, our highly qualified staff guides their students in acquiring a framework of knowledge while encouraging them to develop their skills and self-confidence. At our school, students will master grade-appropriate competencies while being nurtured in their natural curiosity to explore the world around them. The potential of each child will be respected; we will not hinder the progression of gifted students. Léman International Academy offers a bilingual French / English program in which parents can choose the language emphasis.

Léman International Academy is a branch of the TeachBeyond organization. Education Programs:
French / English bilingual programs for students ages 3-11 years:

- We use both the Swiss Plan d'Etudes Romand & the North American standards curriculum.

Subjects taught:
- In French (French, mathematics & at least 1 other) meet the objectives of the Swiss program.

- In English (English-language & at least 3 other subjects) are aligned with North American curriculum strands.

At Léman International Academy, we consider that language learning is not an end in itself, nor a subject matter amongst others. The language is a medium through which we learn. Starting at the age of four, children are taught both in French and English, depending on the subject and periods.

We ask parents at registration to indicate their child's dominant academic language. This is particularly important for young children acquiring the fundamental of reading and writing. The 'partner' language is also introduced in reading and writing, but its systematic learning will only begin a few months later.

Location:
Our campus is ideally situated along one of the main roads of the left bank, the “route de la Capite”. Our school is near the residential areas on the left bank of Geneva. The following Swiss communes are in close proximity: Cologny, Vandoeuvres, Collonge-Bellerive, Vésenaz, Hermance, Asnières, Gy, Jussy, Meinier, Choulex, Presinge, Puplinge, Chêne- Bougeries, Chêne-Bourg and Thônex.  LIA is also easily accessible from the French communes of neighboring Haute-Savoie.

Transportation Services:
We will offer school transportation services morning and evening to and from the 'right bank', as of September 2011.
