International School of Schaffhausen (ISSH):
Located in Schaffhausen, north of Zurich, The International School of Schaffhausen offers high quality international education in English to local students and international students. We are an authorized IB World School for the primary program, the middle years program and the IB diploma program. Our Junior College boarding program is specifically designed for teenagers aged 16-18 from around the world. Situated just 51 km north of Zurich, our school is 3 km from the main railway station, and is accessible by public transport (bus No 23), by road from Schaffhausen centre, and from the motorway coming from Singen or Winterthur.

ISSH was founded in 1999 with the vision to give young people more than a traditional education and to provide quality primary and secondary education to the international community in the Schaffhausen and Zurich North-East area. A personal approach, international standards, small classes and a modern infrastructure in an historic school building is what makes ISSH unique.

Our Philosophy:
The International School of Schaffhausen provides quality education in a stimulating and caring environment. We apply the principal of mutually supporting and respecting one another as different personalities with the same basic needs.

- Early Years Program:  This is for young learners ages 3-5 years.

- Primary Years Program:  An international curriculum framework designed for children between the ages of 3 and 11 years.

- Middle Years Program:  This is is designed for students aged 11-16 years.

- The IB Diploma Program:  This comprizes the final two years of secondary school (grades 11 & 12) leading to a world-wide recognized university entrance diploma, the International Baccalaureate. 

Additionally: As well as the structured lesson timetable, ISSH also offers a wide variety of activities that go beyond the classroom to promote personal development and support academic success.

At The International School of Schaffhausen we offer a boarding programme for students studying at Diploma level (grades 11 and 12). Our boarding programme is designed to support the students in their learning and development as young adults. Through a wide range of extra curricular activities, tasks and travel we encourage our students to become independent and ensure they are well prepared for university life.
