The Creativity Workshop:
The Creativity Workshop focuses on developing creative skills in people from all professions: education, business, the arts, sciences, and social services. We offer summer workshops in New York City, Verona in Italy, Crete in Greece, Prague in the Czech Republic, Barcelona in Spain and Lisbon in Portugal. We teach people ways to develop their creativity and use it in life, work, and creative expression. We do this through a unique series of exercises in Creative Writing, Memoir, Art, Photography, Storytelling and Mindfulness. Many teachers and students taking the workshop receive financial help from their schools and can also get 3 university credits and CEUs.

Traveling outside one’s own culture is known to be one of the greatest ways to awaken creativity and achieve self-discovery. We have chosen Crete to be one of our worldwide locations on account of its exquisite beauty and one-of-a-kind inspirational qualities.

Many of the buildings in Chania (the city on Crete in which the Workshop will be held) date from the fourteenth to the nineteenth centuries, when the island was under Venetian and Ottoman rule.
The creativity of Chania’s traditional artisans remains alive and well; specialties include handmade rugs, leather goods, and gold and silver jewelry.
The Minoan Palace of Knossos, mythical home of matriarchal culture and the Minotaur in the Labyrinth, is only 2 hours away.
The techniques we explore in class will deepen your appreciation of Crete, and the sounds and sights of this ancient and magical island will, in turn, feed your creative work in class.

The Creativity Workshop in Verona, Italy
The Creativity Workshop in Verona will help you become more creative in your personal and professional life. We use many techniques in creative writing memoir, art, photography, storytelling, mapmaking, mindfulness and guided visualization to help you explore your inner creativity.

Verona is a charming town, just an hour’s train away from Venice. Beautiful Verona is an unabashedly romantic town, made famous by Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet. It has wonderful Roman ruins and a coliseum, Medieval houses, and Renaissance palazzos. There is a world-class art museum of Italian Masters, as well as 6 or 7 smaller museums and Romanesque churches.

Our Workshop takes place in the 5 star Due Torri Hotel in Verona’s historic center, a UNESCO heritage site. It is a walker’s paradise, full of elegant shops, delicious trattorias, countless picturesque cafes, and grand public gardens.
You can also make easy afternoon trips to Venice, Padua (Giotto’s frescoes), and Vicenza (Palladian architecture). A little farther afield, you will find the resort towns of Lake Garda. You can also visit the Veneto countryside with its lush farms and famed vineyards.

Hosted on campus at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor MI, iD Tech Camps offers week-long day & overnight summer camps for kids and teens (ages 7-17). Our MI technology and computer science camps immerse students in the collegiate experience. Students build STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) skills in our tech labs, eat in the university dining hall, explore the UM campus, and make friends for life!

Penobscot Language School in Rockland, Maine, is a unique non-profit center for language learning and international exchange offering summer English courses for adults. Located in Stamford CT (just one hour north of NYC), The Mayapple Center provides 5-day summer programs in the fields of creative writing, music, visual arts, humanities, and theatre.
