Alchimia Contemporary Jewellery School, Florence:Alchimia is a private contemporary jewellery school located in Florence, Italy. We offer jewellery courses at BA and specialization levels, as well as short intensive courses that last from 2 weeks up to 3 months in length. Our mission is to provide students a supportive and practical work environment where interaction with our instructors and technicians gives students the conceptual and technical knowledge about contemporary jewellery necessary to prepare them as professional makers, artists and designers.

Small in numbers, with a maximum of 12 students in each class of the core three-year program, interaction and communication among the student body and our skilled teaching staff has helped establish Alchimia as one of the premier contemporary jewellery schools in the world, as made evident by the numerous international prizes, exhibitions, and collections our students partake in each year.
Intensive courses with open dates all year and individual study programs (max. 6 students) give the opportunity to experience contemporary jewellery to both beginners and advanced students.
Art Courses / Programs:
We offer academic year courses for 32 weeks from September - J

une. Our three academic courses can be completed in sequence or taken individually. Students are provided their own workbench for the duration of the academic year.
- Basic Jewellery Course:
Subjects covered include: basic techniques of jewellery construction; wax modelling; engraving; jewellery design and rendering; gemmology.
- Advanced Jewellery Course:
Subjects covered include: conceptual exercises; advanced workshop practice; freehand drawing; goldsmith lab; painting; jewellery history.
- Specialization Course:
In the third year particular emphasis is put on the creative and intellectual development, as well as the refinement of technical skills. The training is performed with the constant support of a staff of teachers, lead by Prof. Ruudt Peters who represents the pinnacle of international contemporary jewellery.
Short-Term Courses:
We also offer short-term intensive jewellery courses. The intensive courses last from 2 weeks to 3 months and are a good solution for those who have limited time to study and experiment in the area of contemporary jewellery. The courses are taught on a one-to-one basis and are available throughout the year, beginning on Mondays. Each student is guided individually to ensure that lessons meet their specific need. Two different types of programmes are offered: technical and conceptual.
