ISAD - Istituto Superiore di Architettura e Design:
ISAD has the purpose to offer a high quality education in the field of Architecture and Design. After more than 30 years of experience, Institute is involved in a constant evolution and changing process which allows it to bring up to date whether the address of didactics or lecturers who are presently young professionals actively engaged either in the freelance profession or into the critical or editorial field. A changing which in any case has not injured the original spirit of Institute which goes on to be founded on the work groups, on the presence of lecturers, on the students' social life, on the interchangeable of the experiences and of lecturers as well. The spirit of community, where a good competition does not exclude the collaboration and the mutual exchange.
Interior Design Bachelor's Degree - Three-Year Course
The aim of the 3 year-course is to prepare students to face with skills and sensibility the concrete responsibilities of the profession. That’s why during the formation, a significant place is occupied by courses that technically deal with the use of materials and installations, but also the graphic and communicative methods to present and develop the work in a professional way.
ISAD’s Bachelor is proposed as a preparation for the profession of Interior Designer. Aimed at high-school/graduate students, the 3 years-course is accredited by E.A.B.H.E.S..
At the end of the formation, the student acquires a European Degree with 180 ECTS credits. The course is organized by thematic areas regarding both drawing and the techniques of representation, the interior design project, the history of architecture related to the morphology of human habitations, technologies and materials. Each course is developed in workshops that link the theoretical lessons to laboratory work providing immediate feedback and verification with lecturers. Each year is divided in two terms.
The Interior Design projects, essential for the didactic formation and controls of the collateral topics, are annual or biannual. To the didactic activity, during the year, are integrated guided visits to exhibitions, cultural activities, worksites and firms as well as historic buildings of interest to topics being studied.
During the course, all students will make two internships, one during the second year and another one during the third year, in an architecture firms or showrooms, completely provided by ISAD.
The course is in Italian language.
Interior Design Master - First Level MasterThe First Level Master, accredited by E.A.B.H.E.S., is open to graduate students in Architecture, Design and Engineering who intend to deepen their own qualification up to the level of details and in interior architecture.
At the end of the course the student earn 60 ECTS credits.
The course relates particularly to the Italian experience and more specifically to the Milan experience and reality. Six workshops deal with specific themes of interior architecture. Each project is organized with the collaboration of a client (agency, public administration, private client) who simulates a real professional condition with the presentation of a precise project program and a final verification of the workshop results.
Besides delivering the widening program, the specialized teaching contributes directly in the activity of the workshops developing parts of the project to which it particularly refers.
ISAD Interior Design Master is under sponsorship of Milan’ Architects Order.
During the course, all students will make an internship in an architecture firms or showrooms, completely provided by ISAD.
The master is in Italian and English language.
Garden Design Master - First Level MasterThe First Level Master, accredited by E.A.B.H.E.S. aims to deepen the main aspects that the professional will face during his work experience. At the end of the course, the student will earn 60 ECTS credits.
Particularly the master intends to give:
- a multidisciplinary approach to the project's theme, in connection with the ability of looking at the Environment through different points of view;
- rules of architectural composition and its different project steps;
- a deep knowledge of the botanic world related from time to time to the specificity of the project: Species Recognition, Choose methods of the essences;
- the ability to control levels of sustainability of the project (environmental, social and economic);
- the Garden and Landscape History Theory in order to understand and use the references for a contemporary project;
- the principal techniques of project presentation and communication of it to the clients;
- the knowledge of the technical aspects of projects (irrigators, outdoor lighting, design, street furniture) and normative (architectural features, light pollution, roof garden,...);
- the skill to study “in place” the practice of the project. Through Garden Safari the student will survey built landscapes, nurseries, and visit historical gardens of Milan and Lombardy.
At the end of the course, all students will make an internship in a Garden or Architecture Studio, completely provided by ISAD.

Yacht Design Master - First Level Master
The First Level Master aims to supply technical and normative information needed to learn how to project a boat with extreme freedom and confidence. The study of hull waterlines, of structures and piping plants and onboard systems will permit to plan since from the beginning their appropriate positioning, giving the chance to acquire a fundamental professionalism to express oneself freely in design and style. The course is accredited by E.A.B.H.E.S. and at the end of the course, the student earn 60 ECTS credits.
The master is intended for graduates and graduating in Architecture, Engineering, Design and holders of a diploma in Design Schools. Moreover, it is appropriate a good knowledge of CAD programs.
At the end of the course, all students will make an internship in a Studio or Shipyards, completely provided by ISAD.
The master is in English language.
Ateliers/Workshop
ISAD workshops are a few hours courses, that intend to pursue the theme of interior architecture and design.
Lessons are lead by professionals, and often the laboratory project are organized by a collaboration with a costumer who simulated a real professional condition.
Courses have a immediate relation with the project processing, so are open only to those who have a previous experience with projecting skills.
