Spot the Difference / Hidden Object Game - Detective Story
Have you got the Eagle Eye of a gifted detective? We’ve got a multi-layered challenge for all you amateur sleuths out there! Detective Story is an intense point-and-click role-playing game that combines hidden object finding with spot-a-difference puzzles in 5 tricky levels! Tasked with solving a great mystery in the confines of a spooky haunted house, you have to use your clue-sniffing prowess to locate 10 hidden objects in levels where the screen is cluttered with random items, and 10 miniscule differences in mirrored levels where not everything is as it seems! However, dawdling is not an option as you race to find a solution against a ticking clock!
This atmospheric and eccentric online puzzle game is very much a visual challenge. The fun combination of hidden object and spot-a-difference puzzles makes for a refreshing change of pace between each level. Strong observation skills are vitally important, as is the ability to remain cool and highly concentrated under pressure (A wild clicking action only results in your time depleting faster!). Keep your eyes peeled or you'll be sure to miss something!
How to Play: There are 5 levels in total: Levels 1, 3, and 5 are hidden object puzzles, while Levels 2 and 4 are spot-a-difference challenges. In the hidden object levels, you have 3 minutes to find the 10 random items indicated at the bottom of the game screen. Using your computer mouse or touchpad, simply Left Click on an object on the main game area to remove it from the list below. Once all 10 items are found, you progress to the next level. In the spot-a-difference levels, you have 3 minutes to find the 10 miniscule differences between a pair of mirrored images. Again, simply click on the ‘difference’ to remove it from the game screen.
Keep an eye on the timer in the top left corner of the play zone. Each time you make an incorrect click, you lose 5 seconds from your overall time. If you are struggling, click on the ‘Hint’ button in the bottom right corner. This highlights the area of a hidden item / difference with a prominent green circle. However, you are only allowed 3 ‘Hints’ per level, so use them sparingly! If you run out of time, you have to go back and start again at Level 1. Happy sleuthing!
