Arcade Car Racing Game – Speed Rivals
Simple to play yet difficult to master, Speed Rivals is an addicting, straight-forward car racing game where slick cornering, tight race lines, and complicated overtaking maneuvers are very much the order of the day! Set on an extremely narrow series of winding, snake-shaped race tracks, your goal is to carefully muscle your way past your computer-controlled opponents by taking the shortest route around the many sharp corners and dangerous U-bends. With only 4 cars on the track, this might sound like a pretty modest task - but at high-speed under the "pressure" of race conditions, it’s a challenge that can prove exceedingly tricky!
This daring driving adventure is a true test of your ability behind the wheel of a souped-up sports car. Utilize clever cornering techniques like drifting and under-taking to sneak into the lead, and take the prized "Checkered Flag". Simply powering your way around the circuit is not enough; you have to show cunning tactical nous along with expert race management skills in order to prevail. It’s time to burn some rubber, and leave your opponents trailing in your wake. Go Track Master!
How to Play: Using your computer mouse or touchpad, Left Click on the ‘Play’ Button in the bottom left corner of the opening game screen. After you have entered your race name into the box provided, click ‘Play’ again to begin the action. Use the Arrow Keys on your computer keyboard to control your race car (the gold / yellow-colored car). Up Arrow = Accelerate; Down Arrow = Brake & Reverse; Left & Right Arrows = Steer.
There are three other computer-controlled cars in each race. As you start at the back of the grid, overtaking is difficult on the extremely narrow track. To progress to the next circuit, you have to skillfully muscle your way into finishing in 1st place. The opening race is 3-laps long, with the amount of laps increasing by 1 as you progress through the levels. Insider Tip: Try to take the ‘inside line’ on a corner, i.e. make your opponent swing as wide as possible. This gives you the opportunity to get around the corner in front!
