Free Tower Defense Game: The Utans - Defender of Mavas

Rating: 9/10 - 940 votes

The Utans - Defender of Mavas is an epic, intense and challenging tower defense-style strategy game where you have to defend your primitive village and entire jungle-covered planet from a rampaging horde of time-traveling alien invaders intent on wiping out the population, and taking all of your valuable timber back to their galaxy for pulping! Strategically place your own tenacious army of defenders at key points along the road to stop the invading mob of aliens, robots and nasty creatures from wreaking havoc on your beautiful, unique world. Carefully and methodically build up your own defensive line of loyal jungle creatures, and try to hold out against multiple waves of Bad Guys.

This fun, all-action, battle-survival activity is reminiscent of classic tower defense games such as Bloons and Darkness Springs as you have to survive a seemingly endless attack from the enemy forces. You have to make snap decisions under great pressure to make sure your village can withstand the onslaught. Have you got the battle-brains and endurance to outwit your opponents and hold out against all the odds? This is going to be a momentous moment in the history of Mavas! It's time to stand up, swing some wood, and be counted!

How to Play: The Utans - Defender of Mavas is a mouse-controlled game - The controls follow a simple, point-and-click method. In each increasingly challenging level, your goal is to defend the Main Village Hut (HQ) from wave after wave of enemy attackers. To do this, you have to strategically place your own troops and creatures in the trees (and on the path) along the route to the HQ. Using your computer mouse or touchpad, click on the HQ to choose a troupe of 3 defensive creatures. When they dash out of the Hut, click on them, and direct them to the area on the game screen you want them to be positioned. This can be at any point along the path, or in one of the designated trees (which act as towers once converted by your army) along either side of the route. There is a helpful tutorial at the beginning of the first level which outlines this procedure for setting your troops in position. Once you are ready to start defending, click on the Arrow Icon at the beginning of the path to start the first wave of invaders.

As this game is set in a primitive world, the currency is ‘Fruit’. You need sufficient Fruit to purchase re-enforcements as the game progresses. You start the game with enough Fruit to set up some initial defensive positions, and earn more by eliminating the charging enemy bad guys. Once a bad guy is defeated, hover your mouse over the Fruit that appears to collect it. You can see your Fruit Total in the top left corner of the game screen. When you are ready for the next wave of bad guys, click again on the Arrow Icon at the beginning of the path.

If you survive all of the enemy waves (the number is indicated just below your Fruit Total), you progress to the next level. However, if any aliens make it all the way to your HQ, they start to try and tear it down. The HQ has a Health Bar which appears underneath the building. If this Health Bar runs out, it’s game over. As you progress, you earn more and more Fruit funds, and can upgrade your towers and troops accordingly.
