“James is a very good coach and different from other coaches I've had - in a good way" - Matteo, age 13
"The best coach, hard but really enjoyable lessons, gets great results, will get you into the best swim team if you want to become a competitive swimmer." - Julian, age 9
“James is a great instructor. I'm 18 years old and before I started the lessons I was really hesitant about his ability to teach an adult, but he has made tremendous progress with me. His teaching methods are simple but can get difficult as they go on. I'm glad I took lessons from him and not somebody else.” - Forhad Sattar, Swimmer
Having trained from the age of 5 for his future swimming career, James competed successfully in national competitions for mid-distance and distance freestyle. He swam for the CIY Barracudas and was awarded Most Improved the year of 1997. He also swam for the Chaminade HS Flyers, and became the becoming captain of his team as well as earning the MVP (Most Valuable Player) award in 1998.
James brought his experience as a competitive swimmer to the field of coaching and became an associate coach for United States Sports Camp - the nationally acclaimed competitive swim camp. James has acquired the experience needed to teach aquatics effectively through an American Red Cross Water Safety program and through working alongside the aquatic director of Queensborough Community College teaching swim classes of all ages and levels.
