United World College of the Adriatic:
United World College of the Adriatic (UWC Adriatic) is a residential school offering a high school study abroad program for students aged 16-19 years. We bring together 180 students from around the world for the final two years of their high school education. Our school is located in the Italian / Slovene village of Duino / Devin, 16km from the city of Trieste, in the province of Trieste in north-eastern Italy, at the cultural crossroad of Italian, Slovene and Austrian heritage. The city is situated towards the end of a narrow strip of land lying between the Adriatic Sea and Italy's border with Slovenia, in southern Europe.
In Duino you will appreciate being part of an international and English-speaking college in a peaceful Italian village. The village is located between two cities (Monfalcone and Trieste) which are easily accessible thanks to an efficient bus service. The nearest airport is Trieste International Airport (Ronchi dei Legionari), only 20 minutes drive from Duino. The village has several small shops for daily needs but these larger cities offer a much wider variety and lower prices. There are many interesting places reflecting the beautiful nature and historical heritage of Italy in the vicinity, such as Venice, Padova, Trieste, Aquileia and Grado.
