The Greater Columbus Swim School:
The Greater Columbus Swim School is the Instructional Program of the Greater Columbus Swim Team of Ohio (GCSTO). The Greater Columbus Swim School offers year-round private, semi-private and group lessons to adults and children in Columbus and all over central Ohio. We teach basic in-water survival techniques as well as advanced competitive swimming skills to our participants. All of our instructors are life guard, CPR & First Aid certified and must complete our own Instructor’s Training Course (ITC) to be eligible to teach.

The Greater Columbus Swim School Program was chosen as central Ohio’s #1 lesson program in the 2009 Nickelodeon’s Parent’s Pick Awards and has been chosen by the USA Swimming Foundation as central Ohio’s local partner in their national Make A Splash campaign.
Our Swim Instructors:
All of our instructors are life guard, CPR & First Aid certified and must complete our own Instructor’s Training Course (ITC) to be eligible to teach. This course covers everything from current teaching techniques to facility safety guidelines to issues such as making physical contact with participants.
We also require two yearly in-services and the successful completion of our advanced Swim School Skills Instructors Course for our upper 2 levels of instructors. This course is a composite of the exact skills and drills used to teach all athletes on our swimming team. The in-service is a hands-on, in-water course in which our instructors are properly versed on how to perform the Swim School skills. New instructors are also required to serve as apprentices with our program prior to being allowed to teach a class of their own. This structure simply makes it easier to teach, easier to learn and much more effective for all!

GPAC Swim School, Greater Philadelphia & South Jersey
Courses / Programs
Established in 2009, The Greater Philadelphia Aquatic Club (GPAC) Swim School provides group swim classes and private lessons to young children (ages 4+) from the Greater Philadelphia and South Jersey area. Our swim classes are held at the Gloucester County Institute of Technology in Sewell, NJ. Our aim is to help young children of all swimming abilities to become more familiar around water and more proficient with their swimming skills.Our swim lessons are offered in a group format and we keep our class sizes small with no more than four swimmers per instructor. We also offer private, 1-on-1, lessons. Classes at each level will also include safety lessons to go along with the swimming instruction. The safety of your child is paramount to us. This is why all of our instructors are required to be certified in lifesaving and CPR/First Aid.
- Group swim classes for kids (ages 4+) at beginners, intermediate & advanced levels. All group classes are offered in 6 week sessions and classes are run once per week for the duration of the session. Each lesson will last 25 minutes.
