Orca Swim School is a licensed instructor of the Miracle Swimming Institute (MSI) in Berkeley, CA. MSI is the world's leading swim school for adults.

About Us:

Photo of Learn to Swim in the Seattle Metro Area, WAOrca Swim School was founded in 1999 by Bruce and Cori Myka. They started the school for the purpose of offering high quality lessons to children and adults in the belief that learning to swim is an individual journey. Their goal is to teach people how to be safe in and around the water without fear or stress by teaching them how the body works in the water.

Adult Classes:
Orca is proud to teach MSI's method of learning how to be free in all water. This method teaches students how to stay in control, never feel panic, and let the skills of swimming come easily. Our beginning and next step class instruction skips no steps and keeps you learning in the most optimal way. This program is unlike any other swim program. If you have ever taken lessons before and felt that something is missing, you were right. We will fill in the steps, and you will be amazed.

Facilities:

The Bellevue Aquatic Center: is a city facility open to the public. The center has two pools Warm Springs and Blue Lagoon. The Warm Springs pool is a 90 degree pool with 0 depth entry, 21/4 shallow end and 4 ½ deep end. The Blue Lagoon is a traditional lap pool with dive tank. This pool is 84 degrees and is used for advanced swimmers, diving, and lap swim.

Carpe Diem Pool Bothell: This is a private indoor pool with many outdoor features like beautiful plants that surround the deck.  The pool has both shallow and deep water, it also features a small hot tub. The water temperature in the pool is a consistent 90 degrees.  Our classes are exclusive to this pool.

The Seattle Pool at Pritchard Beach: This residential backyard pool has been enclosed by an Airdome to keep it warm and comfortable for swimmers.  The pool offers a nice quiet setting with both shallow and deep water that is heated to 90 degrees. Canoe Island French Camp
Courses / Programs
Summer fun with a French accent! L’été avec un petit accent! Learn to speak French and enjoy the fun of an overnight summer camp on a private island. Find a little bit of France in the San Juan Islands at this Northwest Washington sleepover summer camp, one of the country's premier French camps. Campers, ages 9-16, take part in a unique mix of French language and culture through artistic and outdoor activities.

At Canoe Island French Camp we try to insure that our older campers have opportunities to plan and do activities as a group with staff: sunset campfires on a beach, an off-island trip to Friday Harbor, and one- or two-night sailing and kayaking outings. Tipis are arranged by age and, where possible, French class and French Culture class, too. With only 45 campers on the island, you can choose your own experience - artistic and theatrical, adventuresome and athletic - or any combination. Days are filled with new friends and exciting activities all with a French flair. A gala Bon Voyage Banquet, talent show and awards ceremony end each session.
Mornings at camp are devoted to French language classes and activities: fencing, French cuisine, and culture, theater, art, and photography.

In the afternoon campers choose on a daily basis between swimming, sailing, kayaking, archery, art, rock climbing and a variety of sports. French songs, vocabulary for activities, and games are incorporated into each day.

Evening programs include campfires, theatrical and musical productions, beach cookouts and campfires, camp-wide games, and astronomy.
