International Boarding School Programmes for Students Ages 13-19
Each academic programme can be tailored to the needs of our students, and we provide continuous academic guidance to our students to help choose the right path for their future goals. While English is the primary language of instruction, there is also a comprehensive English-as-an-Additional-Language (EAL) programme in place throughout the curriculum.

Foundation Year 
Gstaad International School welcomes students from the age of 13+, for a Foundation Year which will prepare them either for the American High School Programme or for the IGCSE and A Levels. The Foundation Year will have a strong language element, in English (the language used throughout the school), and French or German. Mathematics, all three sciences, PHSE, music and art will all form part of the curriculum, together with the sporting programme.

British IGCSE Programme
IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) is the world’s most popular international curriculum for 14-16 year olds.  IGCSE provides excellent preparation for more advanced study including AS and A Levels, as well as other progression routes. It incorporates the best in international education for learners at this level. It develops in line with changing needs, and is regularly updated and extended.

British A-Levels
After IGCSE, students move into the Sixth Form to study for AS and Advanced Levels (A2), successful completion of which leads on to University or other courses and eventual careers. They normally take 2 years to complete. AS and A Levels have widespread international recognition as educational qualifications, and is accepted as an entry qualification by universities of the European Union.

American High School Diploma Programme
This international study program and diploma is aimed at students who wish to enter colleges in the US and Canada, Business schools, or other institutions. However, the diploma is also internationally recognised. Students need to attend lessons and gain approximately 100 credit hours in each subject for a full credit. In addition, they must gain at least 24 credits in order to graduate.

Pre-University Foundation Diploma
The Pre-University Foundation Diploma has been introduced to Gstaad International School as an alternative route to graduation for students who have already reached the age of 18. The Foundation Diploma can assist students who wish to gain access to a Foundation Course at a university, and is aimed at helping students better prepare for the transition from secondary to university studies.

Summer Academic Programme
Our Summer Programme is a one - three week programme. Students can study a range of different academic subjects in small classes throughout the week from 09:00 - 13:00. Courses include:

Aiglon College

Situated in Kent, just 35 minutes south-east of London, Rochester Independent College (RIC) is an alternative to conventional secondary education, and provides day programs (ages 11+) and boarding programs (ages 16+) to students from the U.K. and international students. About 65 of the College's 280 students are boarders.
