About Us:

Photo of English Courses for Juniors in England, UKAt Heritage English, our young student learners get the opportunity to live in a friendly, comfortable, caring family environment, and speak / listen to and learn English from morning to night.

Our principal teachers are Gail Steggell and Celia Lincoln, who are both fully Cambridge qualified, and have a wide experience of hosting and teaching students of all ages and levels of English.

Heritage English tutors arrange a programme of lessons, excursions and activities to match students’ interests so that young learners are having fun and learning English during their stay.

We place younger homestay students (12-15 years) with carefully selected English host families who are experienced in looking after young people.

Our Philosophy:

Gail and Celia believe passionately that the quickest and most effective way to learn a language is to listen and speak 24 hours a day by staying with English families and having lessons in the home.

They supervise all the plans for one-to-one immersion lessons and they monitor the progress of all students during their stay.

The combination of intensive formal one-to-one lessons combined with the daily conversation practice out of lessons is what we call “total immersion”.

It is this daily repetition and practice that helps learners to keep the new language in their minds after they return. Our students continually praise the success of this well-proven method.

Homestay / Host Family Accommodation:

Photos of Heritage EnglishStudents stay in the home of their tutor or in friendly family homes nearby. We are careful to match students with families who have young people of similar ages and interests, and we place younger homestay students (12-15 years) with carefully selected English host families who are experienced in looking after young people.

Staying in a host family is the only way that you can really experience, learn about and enjoy a truly authentic British lifestyle.

With a homestay, students have their own private room in the house and join the family for breakfast, and dinner.

Lunch may be a sandwich or packed lunch provided by the host family, or it may be a hot meal taken with the teacher. This will depend on the type of course that is taken.
