Heritage English:
Heritage English is an exclusive English language school situated on the beautiful South Coast of England near Bournemouth. We provide intensive summer holiday English language homestay courses for children and teenagers, and combine top professional teaching standards customised to your needs, with a quality homestay. Heritage young learner's English courses are designed for students who want to improve their English language skills in a relaxed friendly environment during their summer holidays.
At Heritage English, our young student learners get the opportunity to live in a friendly, comfortable, caring family environment, and speak / listen to and learn English from morning to night.
Our principal teachers are Gail Steggell and Celia Lincoln, who are both fully Cambridge qualified, and have a wide experience of hosting and teaching students of all ages and levels of English.
Heritage English tutors arrange a programme of lessons, excursions and activities to match students’ interests so that young learners are having fun and learning English during their stay.
We place younger homestay students (12-15 years) with carefully selected English host families who are experienced in looking after young people.
Gail and Celia believe passionately that the quickest and most effective way to learn a language is to listen and speak 24 hours a day by staying with English families and having lessons in the home.
They supervise all the plans for one-to-one immersion lessons and they monitor the progress of all students during their stay.
The combination of intensive formal one-to-one lessons combined with the daily conversation practice out of lessons is what we call “total immersion”.
It is this daily repetition and practice that helps learners to keep the new language in their minds after they return. Our students continually praise the success of this well-proven method.
We offer summer holiday English language homestay courses for juniors of all levels from beginner to advanced:
- One-to-one total immersion English language courses are suitable for children and teenagers who would like to improve their English language skills in a fun & friendly environment during their holidays.
- English language homestay courses for academic / exam preparation purposes: Cambridge FCE, CAE & CPE; IELTS; TOEFL & TOEIC exams.
- Our young student learners can stay in the home of their tutor or with a host family nearby.
- Total immersion means speaking & listening to the English language in formal tuition and social situations 24 hours a day.
- There is a wide range of sporting and leisure activities that students can combine with their homestay course, with many cultural activities available, as well as sporting activities.
Students stay in the home of their tutor or in friendly family homes nearby. We are careful to match students with families who have young people of similar ages and interests, and we place younger homestay students (12-15 years) with carefully selected English host families who are experienced in looking after young people.
Staying in a host family is the only way that you can really experience, learn about and enjoy a truly authentic British lifestyle.
With a homestay, students have their own private room in the house and join the family for breakfast, and dinner.
Lunch may be a sandwich or packed lunch provided by the host family, or it may be a hot meal taken with the teacher. This will depend on the type of course that is taken.
“I want to thank you for all you did to help Andrei with his English. I did not imagine he could have made such huge progress in only one week.
So I am surprised and very happy. Andrei enjoyed his stay in England and he was very happy to be able to practise the tennis he loves so much."
- Carmen, Parent.
