English Language Summer Courses:
Students are placed in English classes according to their age and ability to a maximum of 16 per group. Parents receive weekly online progress reports from their child’s teacher and a more general reports from activity staff and house parents at the end of the course. At Port Regis there are 3 x 1 hour English lessons each weekday morning for 7-14 year olds. At Sibford there are 2 x 45-minute English lessons for the 14-17 year olds followed by a 90-minute educational workshop.

- English Classes for 7-10 year olds:
The emphasis in these classes is on general language and cognitive development through fun activities. They employ a practical, multi- sensory approach teaching English through arts, crafts, songs, stories, games and movement. This is combined with repetition to aid memory.

- English classes for 11-17 year olds:
Classes for older children consist of a careful balance of activities designed to improve grammar and vocabulary while practising writing, reading, speaking, and listening. Games, stories, music, role-play, out-of-class projects, DVDs, computers, and interactive whiteboards help to keep the lessons varied and interesting. All classes use pair and group work to maximize the opportunity to speak and to build teamwork. Each week a new theme is introduced, for example The World Around Us, Health and Exercise, Myself and Others, Fashion and Media.
