How does AquaKids compare to other Swim Instruction Facilities?

We use our own AquaSteps curriculum, with emphasis on positive re-enforcement in every class, including positive praise and caring jesters rather than treat-based rewards or theme-based teaching. Our small class sizes and warm water facilitate the learning experience of your child. We are a member of the United States Swim School Association (USSSA).

The AquaSteps Program:
AquaKids teaches your child how to swim using a program called AquaSteps, developed by our lead teachers with over 25 years of swimming experience. AquaSteps is a combination of teaching methods and skill levels that students attain as they move through the program. Each skill level has definite, measurable goals that are used to objectively evaluate each child's progress.

What certifications and trainings are your staff required to complete?
AquaKids prides itself with a highly trained level of swim instructors. All swim instructors are required to hold current CPR certifications and have completed 40 hours of the AquaSteps Swim instructor training. Most instructors are also First Aid and Lifeguard certified as well. All employees are also required to pass a drug test and background screen prior to hire as well.

Philosophy:

Photo of Swim Lessons in Fort Worth, TXAt AquaKids, we believe that every child should learn how to swim. That is why we combine quality instructors with a safe and comfortable environment. This guarantees each child a successful swimming experience. Our quality instructors have been chosen because of their love for children, knowledge of swimming, and ability to work in a team environment. They practice positive reinforcement and praise to build a strong bond between themselves and each student they teach.

Our facility is designed with children in mind. The water is heated to 92˚ and maintained to meet all state and local health regulations. Our observation rooms allow the children to play and parents to observe classes. Class sizes are small in order to allow each student to receive one-on-one instruction. Group lessons have four students in a class for children, ages three and older. Baby classes have a six to one student-teacher ratio. Our AquaSteps learn-to-swim program was developed as a result of over 25 years of teaching experience. It has 23 class levels in which each student is grouped according to age and ability to ensure that each child is placed in the correct class.

Parent Testimonials:

“The staff was great; they made it enjoyable for my child and the teachers gave him confidence in the water. I couldn’t believe my eyes when my son swam the entire length of the pool by himself after just 3-4 weeks. He didn’t even know how to swim before this. I liked how he was able to move up levels when able to do so.”
- Dohe, Keller, TX

“This has been wonderful experience for my daughter. Before coming here, she was afraid to put her head in the water and did not like to go swimming. Now she is like a fish in the water! We are going to continue her lessons and I’m going to tell all of my friends about AquaKids® and our wonderful experience!”
