BTK University of Applied Science focuses on delivering undergraduate degree programs in communication, design, motion design, interaction design, illustration, communication management and photography. HTK was founded in Hamburg in 1987 and specializes in programs geared toward graphic design, specifically tailored to the needs of the media and advertising industry. Master of Design / Media Spaces Degree Program:
The Master of Design / Media Spaces is a project-based program designed for applicants who have already completed a higher education degree in a design or media related field. The concept of this program is especially aimed at applicants with different creative abilities and backgrounds - communication and media designers as well as architects, computer scientists, set designers, design managers or media theorists are all equally welcome.
The three-semester master’s program ‘Media Spaces’ consists of two intensive projects that take place during the first and second semesters, as well as courses chosen from a catalog of mandatory electives. The thesis project in the third semester includes an individual creative project and an academic dissertation.
The BTK Master of Arts degree program 'Media Spaces' provides a graduate with the necessary training to work as a successful freelance designers/artist or as an employee taking a leading role in the creative and media industry. The program develops the student's knowledge in the areas of art, design and media, and enhances the skills necessary for graduates to work in and lead interdisciplinary, multi-cultural and international teams and aims through the interface of virtual and real spatiality.
Graduates of the master’s program are able to integrate communication into virtual and real spaces using different design methods in order to create inspiring, engaging and sustainable experiences. They have the skills to locate, analyze and apply spatial, moving, and non-linear forms of expression.
Furthermore, they possess a well-founded media competence, which can be expressed both artistically and technologically in order to find sophisticated solutions for complex and multidisciplinary challenges. They must acquire and have a firm grasp of the planning, organizational, and technological product methods and mediums necessary to be successful in their course projects and in their future design/art careers.

At the International Music College Freiburg in Freiburg, on the edge of the Black Forest in southwest Germany we offer a three year program for aspiring jazz, rock, and funk musicians.
