All courses and diplomas are accepted by universities and can count towards your degree. The fact that the art studios, the accommodation and the meals are all located in the same building contributes to a unique working environment at the summer academy.

The Teachers:

The International Summer Academy for Fine Arts and Media, Venice was founded by professors who have been teaching at European and U.S. schools. The Concept of Creative Work:
The uniqueness of the Summer Academy in Venice is the concept of small, specialized classes with the possibility to combine them. Because of the small number of students per class (maximum 18 students per teacher) it is possible to focus on the special needs of each student and adjust the curriculum accordingly. It is also appropriate for beginners with no experience at all.

The development of individual capabilities and the joy of creating your own work is the main focus of this experience.

Students can start one work in one course and continue the same work in a different course during the following week to make use of an additional technique or knowledge they will acquire there. For example, one can start with painting and then continue with film studies to deepen and extend the work done in the first course. One can start with the course “Creative Writing” only to finish with the exhibition of paintings.

Working across all media is an essential boost for the development of new ways of expression and working techniques. It's the first time that this approach is applied in a summer academy.
