Burlington School Of English:
Located in Fulham in south-west London, Burlington School is a British Council accredited school, and one of the most popular and well-established English as a Foreign Language (EFL) Schools in London. The school is conveniently situated in the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham and is just a short distance from the River Thames and Parsons Green Underground station. We offer a wide range of English courses to students from around the world. Our courses include General English, Special Topic, Examination Preparation, Business English and One to One English. We teach students of all ages and abilities - from total beginner to advanced level.
The Burlington School aims to offer the best possible accommodation to all of our students. Our Accommodation Desk has written contractual agreements with all of our homestay families, and all accommodation is inspected to ensure the highest standards.
You may choose to live with an English-speaking family in their home. 'English-speaking family', as used here, usually means a husband and wife, or a husband and wife with children, living in the same house. However, there are many families which have one adult and child or an adult (usually a landlady) living alone. Certain host family homestay accommodation is of an exceptional high standard, and for these homes the category of homestay plus applies.
If you prefer independent accommodation, either in a separate part of a family home, or in a house with other students, but no landlord on the premises. The School can place students where there is no English family, and students live with other students and share common amenities. This type of self-catering accommodation is referred to as Independent Accommodation - and involves sharing a house and amenities without the landlord living on the premises. Some of the rooms are single but there is the possibility to share a room with a number of other independent students.
Classrooms are pleasant and suitably equipped. The Burlington School also has: video facilities, a number of computers with broadband internet access and e-mail for students' use, a library, with its own self-study facilities, where students may borrow books and cassettes and a spacious coffee bar, serving full meals and snacks, with piano for students' use. In addition, students can borrow tapes and listening equipment for self-study use. The coffee bar is a favourite place for students to relax during breaks or during one of the School's parties or film evenings.
The lounge is a favourite place for students to relax during breaks or during one of the School's frequent parties. It is non-smoking. School events such as parties and film evenings are part of the School leisure programme, and take place in the lounge.

Location:
We believe the School building is very attractive, with its pleasant classrooms, student lounge, library and self-study facilities. Central London's tourist, cultural and business areas are only 15 minutes by London Underground (the 'Tube'), or by car. London's Heathrow Airport is 20 minutes by taxi or 40 minutes by Underground. The School is close to homestay accommodation, recreation facilities and numerous shops and restaurants.
To get to Parsons Green you need to take the District Line. Please remember that Parsons Green is located on the Wimbledon part of the District Line. If you are coming from central London, take any west-bound District line train. If it goes to Wimbledon, then just stay on the train until you reach Parsons Green; otherwise change at Earls Court for the Wimbledon line. It takes about 30 minutes to reach Parsons Green from Victoria station.
The School is also easily accessible by buses number 14, 414 and 424. Frequent traditional red buses stop on Fulham Road just outside the School. Number 14 travels all the way from Putney Heath to central London (Tottenham Court Road Underground station).
