Choate Rosemary Hall:
Choate Rosemary Hall (Choate) represents the best in American secondary education. Located in Wallingford, Connecticut (2 hours from Boston & New York), Choate is a private, college-preparatory, coeducational boarding and day school offering third form through sixth form (grades 9-12), including a post-graduate year option. Our balanced curriculum offers students a firm grounding in the fundamentals of clear thinking and expression — with emphasis on individual development. We offer 240 courses with honors sections and have advanced placement in 26 areas.

Academic Curriculum (grades 9-12):
Our six academic departments all offer traditional core courses as well as a variety of electives. The expectation at Choate is that students — as well as faculty and staff — energetically and enthusiastically devote significant time and energy to the pursuit of learning.

Arts:
- Required: Three terms of arts (one in the third form, one in the fourth or fifth form, and one in the sixth form) from two areas: music, theater or visual arts.

English:
- Required: Four years of English (one course each term at Choate).

History, Philosophy, Religion and Social Sciences:
Required: One year of World History, usually fulfilled in the fourth form year; one year of United states History, usually fulfilled in the fifth form year; and one term of philsophy or religion.

Languages:
Required: Three years (through the 300 or 350 level) of Chinese, French, Latin or Spanish or completion of our Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies Program. These are our diploma languages.

Choate offers instruction in 7 foreign languages with in-depth study in: Arabic, Chinese, French, Latin, and Spanish. We offer courses in Intensive Beginning Greek and Italian.

Mathematics:
Required: Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II

Science:
Required: One year of a laboratory course in physical science, either physics or chemistry; and one year of a biology course in a laboratory in this order. This sequence does not apply to students who have completed biology before entering Choate Rosemary Hall.

Quantitative (Q Credit):
Required: 14 terms in secondary school of a Quantitative course, otherwise known as the Q credit.

Contemporary Global Studies:
Required: One term of a course deemed to fulfill the requirement for three- and four-year students.

Study Abroad Programs:
Choate students may elect to spend an academic term abroad in China, France, Italy, or Spain (open to students entering 10th through 12th grade). Approximately one-third of our students study abroad in France, Spain, Italy, or China at some time during their years at Choate. Choate also offers summer study abroad programs in China, France, and Spain.

Capstone Program:
Finish your Choate career with a Capstone project. Seniors may create an individualized program, which typically includes two related courses in both the fall and winter terms and an independent project (the “capstone”) in the spring term. Some recent capstones include international economics, historical trends in American foreign policy, China/U.S. Relations and creative writing.

Music Program:
For students simply just interested in music and wish to take courses or are serious about studying an instrument and learning about music in-depth. In addition to music courses on a vast array of topics – classical music, world music, jazz history, American popular music, theory, harmony and counterpoint, etc.

The program also offers: symphony orchestra, chamber orchestra, string orchestra, symphonic wind ensemble, jazz ensemble, chorus, chamber chorus, festival chorus, student-directed vocal ensembles.

Forman School, Litchfield
Courses / Programs
Forman School in Litchfield, CT is a coeducational college-preparatory boarding and day school offering grades 9-12 and postgraduates to students with identified learning differences including dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and ADD/ADHD.

We are located in the scenic Northwest Hills of Connecticut, just 2.5 hours from New York City by car. Our community is comprised of 215 students from 25 states and 16 international countries.

A Forman education is based on the knowledge that students learn differently. An average class size of six and student-faculty ratio of 3:1 makes it possible to prepare each student for college and beyond. A strong close-knit community provides a secure place to live and learn.

Located in Putnam, Connecticut, Putnam Science Academy is a private boarding school for boys offering a comprehensive college preparatory program focusing on science, mathematics, and technology.

Located in northwestern Montana, Turning Winds Academic Institute (TWAI) is an accredited, family-run, therapeutic boarding school for troubled teens (boys and girls) ages 13-18 from New Hampshire and across the United States.

In our beautiful, peaceful, and safe location, we combine the benefits of a therapeutic boarding school, a wilderness program, and a residential treatment center (RTC).

TWAI has been serving struggling teens and their families since 2002, with an exceptional degree of success.

We provide an extremely high standard of therapeutic treatment to our students, and offer help for the following presenting issues: poor academic performance, behavioral problems, addictions, low self-worth, spectrum disorders, ADD/ADHD, and attachment disorders among others.
