Welcome to Arts Educational Schools London, located in Chiswick, London Borough of Hounslow in West London. For the last 90 years we have taught and developed some of the worlds leading performing artists across all disciplines. The Arts Educational Professional School offers comprehensive training with specialist musical theatre and acting courses including a one year BA degree course in performance studies, a three year BA degree courses in acting and musical theatre and a one year Masters in acting. We also offer foundation degrees as well as part-time, evening, weekend and holiday courses. Over the years graduates from the School have gone straight into major West End and National theatre productions and musicals, with past students appearing in almost every staged production across the UK. More and more of our graduates can also be seen in regular quality dramas on BBC, ITV and Channel 4 and in British and International feature films.

Arts Educational Schools London have their origin in schools founded in 1919 by Grace Cone and in 1922 by Olive Ripman. The Cone and Ripman schools were pioneers in providing suitably talented children with a general academic education in conjunction with specialised training in dance, drama, music and art, preparing young men and women for professional careers in or connected with the theatre. In 1939 the two schools amalgamated to become the Cone Ripman School.

Today Arts Educational Schools London continues to support a world–renowned co–educational Independent Vocational School for pupils aged 11–18 years as well as a professional conservatoire with two main divisions Acting and Musical Theatre, offering BA and MA degrees. There is also a wide ranging programme of part time courses for all ages.

In 2007, Lord Lloyd Webber agreed to take on the role of President, taking on the role vacated by the death of Dame Alicia Markova, marking an auspicious new era for the Arts Educational Schools London.

We are accredited by the Council for Dance Education and Training, City University London and The National Council for Drama Training.

Since the beginning of this course in 1993 we have produced an international body of actors now working in Australia, New Zealand, the USA, Argentina, South Africa, Scandinavia and Europe, as well as the UK. We have also produced some fine directors, writers and teachers. Recently we have had actors in the National and Royal Shakespeare Companies, in the West End and in major national tours, as well as major films and TV series. Other former students have worked in Educational Theatre, Fringe Theatre or started their own companies and even theatrical agencies.

Most of our graduates are actors who have former careers or trades on which they can rely to provide for the many times that a contemporary actor in our society is either under or un-employed! Our training is for life – not for who gets the first job – and our major concern is training the artist as a cultural architect, a person who grasps the overall picture of their professional and cultural vocation and is prepared to influence attitudes and shape the future.
