The Anderson Private School for the Gifted, Talented and Creative:
Located in Fort Worth, Tarrant County in north-central Texas, The Anderson Private School for the Gifted, Talented and Creative was founded to serve the unique needs of intellectually, academically and creatively precocious children. The school is non-graded and accepts children ages four to sixteen. Lesson planning is individualized for each child with much of the instruction offered on a one-on-one basis.
We provide an educational setting where precocious children have an opportunity to participate with their intellectual peers in creative, academic, aesthetic and social endeavors. Our primary goal is to facilitate the growth of students as independent, self-directed learners with the development of skills, concepts and positive attitudes within the cognitive, emotional and social domains.
Most instruction is done one-on-one with the student. We have some small classes for different subjects and the ratio is approximately 4 to 1 overall. The entire school travels every Friday for an adventurous learning experience. We also take one week long trip each year, typically at the end of the second semester.
Individualized study programs:
Core scholastic subjects are accelerated and compacted. Frequent pre testing and post testing qualifies individual children for rapid acceleration though the curriculums. Mastery of instructional objectives is attained at ninety (90%) percent and is recorded in individual continuous progress profiles. Traditional grades and report cards are not issued.
Since our curriculum is non-traditional, students are in different levels in different subjects. It is not uncommon to have elementary age children studying high school subjects at our school. One of our primary goals is to enable students to accelerate their learning and enroll in a college or university at an early age. Children normally begin attending college as co-enrolled students around fifteen to sixteen years of age.
The Anderson Private School is fully accredited by AdvanceED which represents the unification of the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI), and the National Study of School Evaluation. The Anderson Private School is also licensed by the Texas Department of Family & Protective Services.
Year-round enrollment:
Students may enroll at any time during the school year. Tuition is pro-rated for students enrolling during the year.
