The school was founded in 1983 by people who are still running it today, and it is recognized by the Ministry of Education, Research and Universities.

The school is open all year round both for group and individual teaching. Lessons are conducted by teachers specialized in the teaching of Italian as a foreign and second language, and are particularly experienced in instructing adult students. The method of communication, and the friendly and personal atmosphere of the lessons make our courses very special. The proof of this is in the large number of students who return year after year.
Italian Exam Preparation Courses - CILS / CELI Certificate:
We offer Italian language exam prepa
ration for those who wish to sit the exam for either the CILS certificate at the Università per Stranieri di Siena, or the CELI certificate at the Università per Stranieri di Perugia. This involves private lessons that are geared specifically to training students for these exams. Our teachers prepare students to sit and pass each part of the exam using authentic texts from the exams themselves, and simulating actual exam conditions in the time given for practice tests and evaluation of the results by criteria used by the examiners at the universities. Our secretary will look after the details of registering you for the exam, paying the necessary fees on your behalf and, if you wish, arranging a hotel booking in or transportation to the city in which the exam is held.

Our Italian lessons are based on dynamic teaching methods and a stimulating language program that incorporates the student’s interests and various aspects of Italian life. In addition to our Italian language courses, we provide a DITALS II certification course which trains you to teach Italian as a Second Language and Italian as a Foreign Language. This course is monitored by the University for Foreigners of Siena.

Founded in 2005, L'Italiano Porticando is a family-run and friendly Italian language school in Turin, teaching exclusively the Italian language and culture to foreigners.
