Waves Swim School is a progressive and holistic swim school based in Columbia, Richland County, South Carolina. Waves Swim School specializes in private swim lessons and offers courses in swimming pools in Columbia, Irmo, Chapin, and Lexington, SC. Our fully certified instructors have over 50 years of combined experience with all ages and experience levels.
Philosophy :
Waves Swim School's philosophy is simple. To offer a high level of swimming instruction focusing on technique and safety in a 1-on-1 environment. Our instructors are certified and have gone through intense training and most of our instructors have many years of experience teaching all levels of water instruction.
We do not use flotation assistance for our instruction. Kickboards are used only for isolation and direction. We believe that children learn at their own pace with their own bodies through specific and systematic techniques. We also believe that swimming is fun, especially when a child or adult receives positive direction and praise. Our techniques are proven through experience with hundreds of children and adults.

FAQs:
What does my child need to bring to lessons?
A child only needs to bring him/herself and a towel. Some children prefer goggles. Although goggles are not needed and discouraged, instructors will teach children with goggles.
I have my own pool, can I have other friends come to the pool so that more children can be taught while the instructor is there?
Definitely, in fact, for every family that you bring to the pool and they take at least five lessons, we will give you one free lesson. When traveling to pools, we like to have a minimum of two lessons at each pool, if at all possible.
Can I sit beside my children when they are in their lesson?
While we teach swimming, our policy is that parents and/or guardians are either on the other side of the pool, or far enough away as to not distract the instructor or the student. If at anytime the instructor needs assistance, they will safely move the student and call the parent or guardian.

The Pool School in Collierville, Shelby County (and Memphis metro area) TN, is a leading swim school offering swimming instruction to adults and children. Rob and Janice Snowberger started The Pool School in 1995, since then over 15,000 students have learned to swim using The Pool School method. Coach Rob is a Level 5 swim coach, the American Swim Coaches Association’s highest classification. He was an assistant coach at the University of Alabama under Olympic swim coach Don Gambril. Camp Chatuga, Mountain Rest SC
