Our centre in Dublin offers the University of Cambridge 120 hour CELTA course in the following format:

- Full-time (4-6 weeks intensive) CELTA Course.

-Part-Time (7+ weeks intensive) CELTA Course.

It is the most widely recognised and respected international TEFL certificate in teaching English offered in Ireland and across the globe.

The Cambridge University ESOL CELTA Certificate is an introductory TEFL course in teaching English for candidates who have little or no previous English Language teaching experience. It may also be suitable for candidates with some basic TEFL experience.

CELTA is an ELT (English Language Teaching) certificate, which encompasses TESL (i.e. Teaching English as Second Language) and TEFL (i.e. Teaching English as Foreign Language).

CELTA Course Core Elements:
The CELTA course in Dublin is focused primarily around learning from the practical experience of preparing lessons and teaching them, followed by reflective consideration and evaluation that will inform future lessons. For this reason, the core element of the CELTA is Teaching Practice. The other main elements are:

- seminar input
- observation of experienced teachers and of peers
- assessed assignments
- Teaching Practice with language students
- Candidates complete six hours of assessed teaching. Depending on course participant numbers, candidates may also have the opportunity to do some unassessed teaching practice.

Only candidates who have a realistic chance of being successful on the course will be considered.

• St Brelade’s College is located on the British island of Jersey in the Channel Islands, approximately 20 miles off the French coast and 80 miles south of England.

• We are accredited by the British Council and are a member of English UK, along with being a validated course provider of the Trinity College London Cert. TESOL.
