Connacht College of Design in Ireland
We are a "school that comes to our students".
The Connacht College of Design specialises in
the Diploma in Professional Interior Design. It
is the only course that we offer, so we can
concentrate on keeping it fresh and up to date
each year. We offer classes in smaller rural
areas outside the larger cities. In this way,
students who live in rural areas do not have to
travel to Dublin, Cork, etc. and can avail of
Higher Education in Interior Design. We simply
locate a large, safe hotel with excellent
conference facilities, and rent this for the
school year. The Course Director and creator,
Amanda Stuart-Heaney, has over twenty-five years
experience teaching and working in Interior
Design. Amanda received her training in interior
design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in
New York City. For 15 years she worked as a
professional interior designer in the United
States. She moved to Galway 15 years ago and has
been teaching “Practical Interior Design” and
“Interior Design on a Budget” workshops
throughout the country.

Chents Music School, Cork
Chenta Music School is Cork’s Keyboard School, an established Piano and Keyboard school in Cork City Centre. The School is run by teacher/owner Chenta Ní Riordáin and serves pupils within the Cork region. At Chenta Music School, pupils have the option of playing piano or keyboard as a hobby or they can sit exams. The exams that pupils sit are with London College of Music. The exams are recognised internationally with two categories that a pupil can choose from. The first is the grade exam, in which one can choose scales or a study to be played and three pieces are selected. The exam candidate also sits aural and sight-reading tests. The second option is to omit the scales / study and the aural and sight-reading tests and the pupil instead studies four pieces of a set standard and performs these only. Pupils can use their exam pieces and / or other pieces to perform in their practical exams for the Junior and Leaving Certificate. Quite a number of Junior and Leaving Certificate pupils at Chenta
Music School have successfully performed for
their practical music exams.
